Because it is all pig fat. Fat, sodium, preservatives. I know you're gonna be a processed sugar guy. I don't disagree with you. Putting shite in your body like pop tarts or cheetos are a huge problem, but pounding bacon and thinking your body is a temple is a bit foolish.

I'm reading Proteinaholic at the moment. Pretty good book. I think just cutting your caloric meat consumption back would be great for most people.

Thinking About Starting An All Plant Based Diet
Terrible idea. You are meant to eat mostly meat, not mostly plants. You'll almost certainly have to supplement (which is dubious to begin with) to get what you need nutritionally. There is no such thing as "detoxifying". You will have the most energy if you eat a high fat/high protein diet that is low in carbs. If you want to mix in some veggies, that's fine, but they are not vital. (All of this is assuming you don't have allergies)

"Your gonna get fat eating all those carbs". Evidenced by the masses of fat asians.
China is now the number one diabetic country in the world. In general, the culture there is smaller portion size.

Pig fat is great for you - if you aren't eating animals that are fed Oreos and gummy bears. Sodium is good for you also. And you can buy bacon without preservatives. Animal fat and animal protein (particularly red meat) is about the healthiest and most nutrient dense thing one can eat.

This is laughable! Every fruit, vegetable, legume, and some grains and fish are more nutrient dense.

If true, it is because they found the American Dream.

Meat should not be a staple. It's a luxury. It should be the smallest item on the plate. But it has not been that way in any of our lifetimes.

Don't mistake my intent here. I grilled some filets last weekend and almost jizzed when I are mine. I'll never be vegan, but cutting out a ton of meat and dairy is my sweet spot.

Not looking it up but there is no way that's true unless you're just going by raw number of diabetics and if so LOL they have a billion people of course they have the highest number of diabetics.

Pigs are fed the remains of other dead pigs

That's not good for you. Fried pig fat isn't healthy

Looks like we found a Paleo diet guy

Paleo is horrible for you and tons of crossfit people found out the hard way. There is a reason cavemen on the caveman diet had so many health problems and low life expectancy.

Vegetables aren't bad for you, but I'm very skeptical that the ones commonly forced on us are in any way vital. E.g., the majority of the common green vegetables in our diets were bred from the same weed withing the last 1500 years or so. There's no reason at all to believe that something in the evolutionary blink of an eye has become vital. Beyond that, some vegetables suffer from the same modern condition as fruit - namely, it's way bigger and starchier/sweeeter than it ever was before science took over. e.g. I'll eat heirloom potatoes but I won't eat some bleach-white Russet.

Really? A honey crisp apple is more nutrient dense than red meat? Talk about laughable. And the bio-availability of micronutrients is higher (sometimes much higher) in meat than in vegetables. But yes, fatty fish are great.

Nor was it like that in America before scientism took over. The American of the 1800s consumed a diet extremely high in red meat and full fat dairy. The misleading stat about meat consumption now is because chicken is so much higher than it used to be. But make no mistake: the early American diet was soaked in animal fat and animal meat with not much fruit or vegetables. And the fruit and vegetables they had were seasonal and thus only occasionally available. And there was little obesity - and heart disease was an unknown. Heart disease essentially started in the early 1900s - around the time vegetable oils and vegetables began replacing the good stuff.

11-12% China's adult population has diabetes - making it probably per capita and absolute numbers the most diabetic country in the world.

Right. That reason being lack of modern medicine. It most certainly was not because they were eating tons of vegetables and vegetable oils.
