Doesn't have to be tied to a golf or tennis club. Just the best overall gym? Would like access to a sauna, steam room, and whirlpool if possible.

Gold’s gym sucks. It’s dirty, not towels to wipe down equipment, not that anyone would actually do it. People are inconsiderate, they don’t take weight off the rack and some use multiple machines at a time (even in peak hours).

Good luck finding a gym that has a sauna that will go above 70 degrees.

I used spectrum on Perkins when I lived in BR and liked it. Mix of an older crowd so it was a decent environment. Sauna sucked tho.

Yeah, I guess I'm looking for a City Club RR equivalent in Baton Rouge. Nice gym, but with professionals and retired folks, with a few young people sprinkled in.

I'm at spectrum on perkins, I think they're running a deal right now for $25 a month, I pay around $50.

No whirlpool but they re-did the men's locker room a few years ago and the sauna and steamroom are nicer now, I don't really use either.

No real complaints about the gym aside from the squat racks can get a traffic jam on certain days

Are you trying to get in shape or join social club?

If you really want to get in shape redstick crossfit has some world renounced coaches. Even if you don't want to do CrossFit, it would be my recommendation. It is home to the brute strength crew and has cf games winners, Olympians, doctors on its staff, along with a huge nutrionist staff, with a wide variety of programming. It truely is one of the best gyms in the United States from a performance and results standpoint.

If you are looking for a social club, I can't help you.
