Does 18% body fat look different on a 44yr old? At 170, according to my last measurements, I will be in single digit body fat. I need to lose 19lbs. It’s not that hard to comprehend.

Based on your comments, you carry an impressive amount of muscle for your height and age (age does matter regarding general potential/hormones).
Your calories confuse me, though. I'm your same height at 36 and weight about 156 at about 12%, and my "cutting" calories is between 1750 and 1900.

Watch your sugar intake. Two protein bars probably contain a total of 50g of sugar. That’s way more than you should be intaking in a day. Cookies and bread don’t help. Protein shakes are usually full of sugar. What are you putting in your coffee?

Nothing, coffee is black.

Austerity. I’ve been reducing them in order to see improvement. The macros is the answer. I’ve seen him mprovement in just the last couple of days.

HIIT cardio?

Sugar is my damn problem. Biggest vice I have by far. I have such a weakness when it comes to stuff like cookies.
I do intermittent fasting and loosely track macros, during the week days I’m pretty much always below my 2500 calories. I do CrossFit 5 days a week and play basketball on sundays. On weekends if I want pizza or burgers or whatever I do it. I kinda break off the fasting on Saturdays/Sunday’s (I go out some nights and have a few drinks vodka/whiskey whatever) But I know it’s the sweets/sugar intake that keeps me from my goals. Need to get it together

I keep my heart rate high while doing circuits. I try to keep it around 155 or so. If it gets above 165 I suck wind until it’s back to 150, otherwise no rest alternating between 2 different muscle groups.
Fell off of the wagon yesterday. My CFS (sucks so bad) bit my arse so no gym. Licking my wounds today, but still eating right. Will get back into the gym Monday morning. Scale has moved to 188, so that’s progress.

Just commit. It sucks, but embrace it. When I am really dragging arse I will eat a hershey’s Kiss before my workout. You crave fat, sugar, and salt. Sometimes you just have to give in a little.

You don’t have dedicated cardio-only days?

No. My knees are pretty beat up from the army. I do about 15-20 minutes at the beginning of my workout to get my heart rate up and I maintain a heart rate of 155 throughout the workout.

Interesting. HIIT cardio should last 20-25 minutes max.

Eat high protein (1.5-2g per lb of body weight) Green veggies, and watch the weight fall off.

Try it. Pair two muscle groups, say chest and triceps, and alternate between the two, keeping your heart rate at 155. It’s a tough go, but a hell of a work out.

I don’t doubt it, but you may be overtraining.

Well if you are that large than no you don't need to eat that much, top it at 60% of total Cal's or 4g per kg if you have an extreme tdee which at that weight you don't.
There is a reason people are recommending high protein and it's the thermal effect of food(TEF). Fat has only about 5% tef, carbs top out at 15% and protien is around 30%. Meaning with diet induced thermogenesis (DIT) protein is only 3.2 Cal's or less per gram. Also protein is proven to cause the most satiety in studies.
Buy the lean gains book, has everything you need to get to where you want to get.

Do you live in the greater NOLA area 777?
Posted on 8/19/18 at 10:38 pm to touchdownjeebus
No, have family that does. I love working out at the Westside Athletic Club on the West Bank when I go.
I live on LC for now.
