Wegovy is Ozempic.

It's only a brand name. Both are Semaglutide.

How did you get it? Most insurance companies don't cover it. Wegovy is the weight loss version of Ozempic.

Need to find a clinic that has access to a compounding pharmacy.

We use a pharmacy out of Houston.

Depends. It isn't covered by most insurances. So your retail pharmacies it will cost a lot more.

It's $200/2.5mL vial, which will last 2 months from the compounding pharmacy.

That's not horrible. I thought LA banned compounding pharmacies from making semaglutide? ( I just found the TD thread about it)

Jose didnt LA ban the shipment of Simaglutide into LA or just the pharmacies from compounding it?

I know we get ours from TX too.

To the OP, make sure youre getting enough protein in. Biggest issue (besides the nausea and constipation) with people on Simaglutide is losing muscle mass due to not enough protein intake.

Jose, what’s your threshold for prescribing it? The 300 lb dude who can’t move is obvious vs the person that’s 30 to 40 lbs overweight but can’t get their shite together?

he has said before, if they ask and are overweight, he will give them script. no reason not to. he can correct me if i misunderstood him though

i agree with him, but i really wish people would develop good lifestyle habits.

Do you think it’s a good idea for someone 30 to 40 lbs overweight? They will likely lose the mass but a lot of muscle which would raise their PBF. If they get off the shot they gain the weight back due to lifestyle not being changed but as a whole are fatter now.

I think if someone is grossly obese it’s a no brainer.

if they are not lifting weights already and focusing on protein...i do not think its a good idea, terrible idea imo for the reasons you mentioned.

but for many, just reducing the weight period, will make them healthier. not look better really, but healthier.

I think this needs to stop being said without studies with muscle biopsies. It only says LBM not muscle.
