Live in the Broussard - Youngsville area. Looking for recommendations. I canceled my Reds Membership a while back because we really weren't going often enough.

I would rule out Planet Fitness if you use a lot of free weights. Otherwise it is a really good value.

I've belonged to both snap and anytime. Anytime is going to have more equipment and more space usually.

Snap is going to be cheaper but smaller/more compact, also Snap is now encouraging it's independent owners to creat a CrossFit/power lifting area.

You're going to pay about $50/month for anytime vs $35/month for snap

Planet Fitness if you want cheap and don't really use free weights.

Snap vs Anytime you'd really need to visit your local ones in person to decide. It varies because they're franchised there's some really nice gyms for both Snap and Anytime, and there's some that are really small, cramped, and overcrowded.

Team Planet here. Only downside is there isn't much eye candy. Lots of regular candy though.

This for sure. They vary by owner so just go to the ones in your area and see what they offer. Also I am not sure how snap works but at Anytime you get access to every gym not just the one you sign up at.

We had Snap for 5 years. Just changed to Anytime 3 months ago. LOVE IT. It's about $25 more a month for a couple but totally worth it for us.

Snap allows you to go to any gym. I've tested this across states and to at least 10 different Snaps in 5 years.

Also worth noting. Anytime Fitness can and will change your monthly rate if you start going to another gym enough to make it your "home gym". This happened to my friend and I confirmed when we joined.

Some Anytimes are nicer than others. You can access any of the locations, but If you signed up at the Highland Road Anytime but started going to the one on by Dutchtown HS for example, your rate will go up(it's a very nice big gym).

There are plenty of fatties for sure, but there are also quite a few ripped people there too.

You have to go to a different location a LOT for them to switch your home club from the one you originally signed up at. The rate change is because each franchisee can set their own monthly rates, so when they switch your home club they switch you to that location's rate. But if you signed up at Location A, but the majority of your gym visits are to Location B...then its only fair to franchise owner B that they get paid since you're using their gym and equipment more often than the location who's profiting from your membership.

Not familiar with the gyms in your area but I've always favored anytime fitness.

Yep. I understand it. Just pointing out that Snap won't change your rate even if your home gym changes. Mine changed 3 times in 5 years from Perkins to Zachary to Pville.

It's fair to change it in anytime's example b/c some gyms have full locker rooms, crossfit equip, etc while some are barebones basic gyms.
