I have a cup of coffee if playing basketball with 5:30 am group. If lifting, then usually a Preworkout or energy drink.

I typically do not have coffee on the days when taking PWO or energy drinks.

With all the people posting y’all take preworkout, do you still poop at regular times or is it random? I like being regular and coffee did that for me.

You caught me red handed. I’m so obsessed with you! You are so stinking smart and know so much about bench pressing.

Please tell us again what a drop set is? I’m sure these guys here forgot!

I saw you posted about me in another thread like a little bitch

I hope you didn't match into a surgery residency and we end up in an OR together one day. But if that day ever comes, I'll dropset my nuts on your forehead

I’m extremely regular for early AM workouts. Not a coffee drinker. Scoop of C4 and I’m clenching the cheeks right after it hits my lips. I’ve tried a few other pre-workouts and keep going back to C4. Doesn’t upset my stomach and I don’t get super jittery. Everybody’s different though. Some people only do black coffee, others do some crazy pre workout stuff with like 400 mg caffeine

You won’t ever see me in an OR. Three years of residency and a year of sports medicine fellowship was enough for me. I’m more than happy in my clinic 8-4ish

So I did it this morning and I dig it.
Got up at 5:00. Preworkout while I read my devotionals and hit gym for 6:00. Was able to go to the bathroom also.

The only thing.. once I get in a routine I’ll need to get a new regiment in the gym. I could tell my intensity was down a little and I have no room for lack of intensity.

I’d just stick with the coffee. I’ve been doing a single cup of black coffee before my morning workouts for 5+ years.

Usually about 9PM. It was my wifes idea, she hates going in the afternoon. Plus that early we have free reign in the place.

I hated that for the first few weeks. Felt like I was wasting my time. Had to adjust my routine a little and the scoop of protein and the krispie helped a lot.

Ah. So no kids. Makes more sense. But still, that’s like waking up late more than waking up early.

330 am is the middle of the night.

I had no idea preworkout so popular with adults. I always just assumed it was for young folk.

I am jealous of y'all. I suck at waking up and love the snooze button.

You get used to it. I often wake up 15 to 20 min before the alarm goes off now. I will never switch back to afternoon or evenings gym sessions. I find that most the people there at 5AM are serious. Clown factor is definitely more in the evenings with people hoarding dumbbells and equipment or playing on cellphones. Most the morning folks want to get in there and get done and move on with their day. Its refreshing for sure.

Me too. I life-hacked myself two days before trying to get up early. I stayed up super late and got up at my normal time for work. Was exhausted and tired all day. Made myself go to sleep around 9:30 pm and had alarm set for 5:00 am. It worked!
