236.8 weigh in today.

I've been crushing it on the workouts, and trying to walk at least 3 miles a day. I still have been eating too much, so trying to curb that. Proud of myself for consistently turning down fried foods for salads and getting back into a ton of boneless skinless chicken breasts.

(250/236.8/185)

230/228/200

This weekend was my last big blowout weekend. It was our home golf course's big tournament. I checked my app for my scale. I weighed in a 271 last year this weekend, so It's been a productive year for sure. I had gotten as low at 218 though, so time to tighten it up. Push ups are going great. Treadmill and walking not so much. These first weeks of school have me so damn tired.

There's no more beer, complex carbs, or junk food in my house, so the diet part is easy.

Im shooting for 200 by Christmas break. That's plenty of time to do it nice and slow. Im really hoping to be around 210/215 by Halloween. I love setting deadlines; it helps me focus.

7lbs a month is a pretty good clip

At one point I was losing around 10-15 per month. I guess I have to recalibrate now that I am smaller. I guess I was figuring around 1-1.5lbs per week, where 2 lbs per week was my standard.

18 weeks until Christmas puts me down 18 lbs. That's 210, anything over that would be great

Yeah, I guess that's true. 2lbs/week when first starting is reasonable. I'm pretty tickled if I can drop 1 these days.

so holding steady this week.....been a hard week. My boss/mentor had a heart attack and died while walking a job at the plant tuesday...so of course been hard emotionally and then tons of people bringing food to the office. been hard to keep mind on task and stay consistant

I coach 7v7 5th grade football and we started practice this week. Essentially i sprinted for almost an hour straight while teaching them the cover 2 defense which was good....except im sore as frick, like sore in places i have never been sore and havent been able to lift since. will get one in today and work through it and spend an hour in hot tub and an hour or two on marc pro tonight to try and get through it.

gonna restart this 531 cycle sunday and count this as more of a deload week.

i am at over 50k steps this week so far so on task there.

hopefully next week its easier to stay on point diet wise. im sure lots of food will be brought by the office with the funeral and stuff being next week. Crazy, dude been out here for 42 years since the day he graduated from ole miss. great guy but as you may expect crazy overweight. But died doign what he loved and thats all we can ask for.

That's tough. I've worked with too many that have died very shortly after retirement because they hadn't taken care of themselves.

Sorry about your mentor, it sucks losing those.

I've seen too many people crashing right when they retire, and a couple of them having heart issues led me to get some stuff checked for myself and handle it.

First real weight loss journey since my late 20s and damn the body just stays sore. Can't bounce back like I used to, which hopefully will spring back a bit once I drop 50 more pounds.

You and my brother must work at the same plant. He told me an older guy died at work this week.

Finally done with my trips and back to normal life
With all the progress made since January, feels weird to basically stay at same weight all through August - but I have been out of town and eating poorly with minimal exercise for 11/24 days.

It's been a couple months since I posted an update. This summer was very difficult to try and keep any sort of decent routine (meal prepping, workouts, sleep, etc). I'm not going to lie and say I did my best, because I didn't.

With that out of the way. I'm finally done with all the summer traveling and getting back into a somewhat set routine with school starting last week. Gym has been closed for 2 months. Tired of hearing from the owners it will be open soon (complete shite show on their part for not having all the permitting acquired before moving out of their old location). I'll be in a gym by 9/1 so I can prep for Squatober. I may have to switch to a gym that is more expensive and/or farther away, but I'm tired of waiting.

I've been trying to make due with what I have at home. Getting some decent workouts in with resistance bands, dumbbells, and sandbags. However, it's nothing like I do at the gym with real free weights. I added long walks (2.5-3.5 miles) to my routine before work. For the last 2 weeks I've been shouldering a 80# sandbag for the first mile (plan on shouldering it for 2 miles starting Monday).

Got my diet back on track last week and cleaned it up even more this week (down 3# in 10 days). Highlights here are using coffee and mental resistance to not eat at certain times just because it's routine. Also I forgot how damn good spaghetti squash can be. Great low calorie filler base that actually keeps me feeling full.

Hello, my name is Doug_H and I'm a fatty

Started 8/8/23 at 262, at 253 now with goal of 230. Been getting 3-4 really good gym workouts each week and 2-3 at home workouts mixed in. Also been monitoring food, meal prepping during the week to keep it consistent, and walking my neighborhood several times a week which my route is a little over 2 miles

Good job Doug!

I dropped a couple LBs this past week. The week was great, the weekend I had some fun.
Im feeling better and stronger. I need to start running in the afternoon on my treadmill. Today is day 1 UGH. I hate running but my body loves it.

Man I hate running also, I hate it even more on a treadmill since I can't see an endpoint and instead just looking at the clock wind down. Mental thing I know, but it just doesn't click for me. After incline walking on a treadmill earlier this year I tried jogging in my neighborhood and the first day about a half mile into it I strained my damn calf, hurt like a SOB and still has never fully healed because I can feel it start to tighten up and catch sometimes so that's why I've restricted myself to just power walking the neighborhood like a 60 year old woman lol

I suggest walking instead of running unless you are Training for running events. Far superior for fat loss. Easier on your body to recover so you can do it every day. Mix in the weighted vest and you get everything you need.

Sitting at 230.2 for the last 3 days. As planned, I started carrying my 80# bag for 2 miles this week (plus an additional 1.5-2.5 miles without the bag). Going well so far and I'm averaging a little over 3 mph with the bag. While it's not very fast, I feel it's a decent pace for walking and I'm staying right at the border of HR zones 2 and 3.
