This guy collapsed after taking a Pre Workout. They didn't even name which one. These is a freak accident made to be a big danger so much so "you're playing Russian roulette." I've heard no problems with pre work out mixes until this.

Thanks Insider Edition.

I’ve never come across a pre-workout that was harmful, but I stuck with recognized brands. You shouldn’t take more than the suggested amount, and you should always read the ingredients list. They aren’t regulated by the FDA, so there’s still a risk

I can’t watch the video right now, so I can’t judge it. But, if I had to guess, he had a pre-exisitng health problem, he had an allergic reaction, he took some weird, obscure brand or he took too much.

I came across one (Stimul8) about 5 years ago that I took with 2 others from the Rice strength staff and it fricked us up. We were all laid out on the floor pale as hell. Just completely fricked. Mind you we weren’t even taxing our bodies that badly.

It absolutely crushed us. That’s the only time it’s happened to me, but whatever was in there was bad stuff. Probably meth... and I wish I was kidding.

Some people are dumb and mix that stuff with an energy drink, or drink like 6 energy drinks in one day

Supplements are basically the Wild West. Overdosed, underdosed, stuff added just to make your skin tingle so you "feel" it working.

I like my caffeine. Straight No-Doz pills and I'm ready to rock and roll. No-Doz, creatine and high carb/protein meals around a workout are better for me than any pre-workout.

99% of the time, there are other factors that caused the problem, not PWO.

I buy my old PWO from Poland via eBay because it was deemed illegal. Two guys in the military we taking it in excess dosages, while also juicing and training in extreme heat.

Sure, blame the PWO.

BTW: It’s Ripped Freak PWO and all the flavors are legit. Never had an issue with it, either.

I can't do preworkouts. Even just caffeine before a WOD makes me light-headed and seeing stars in no time.

If I'm doing some lighter weight upper body it doesn't get me. Squats, deads, and metcons hell no.

I’ve been using Mr. Hyde for a few years now and never had any serious side effects. The only time I feel a little off is if I drunk more than a couple beers the night before, I’ll get a little light headed and my heart rate will be elevated more than normal but that’s probably due to the alcohol.
