Yea, I’m restricting calories. I need to get another InBody done, but I’m down to 208 after starting the year at 222.

I'm thinking I'll probably do both squatober and deadcember. Suggestions for a program to run in between?

Probably something upper body focused with some conventional deadlift days as well to build up to deadcember. Don't want a 5 day per week program for November either

Pool season 2? Silverback has 2 days squatting, 2 days deadlifts in it.

well deadcember is pretty light volume wise other than the deads. I would look at something like strongville, silverback, or if you really want to get ready for deadcember....the mullet or mullet 2 as you would be doing some form of deadlift 4 days a week but its all different variations.

i personally think carries are awesome so i would look at mullet 2 if i had to pick any particular 1.

Pool Season is kicking my arse.

ETA: can I add in some calf exercises as a supplemental workout? I’m trying to trust the process but my calves always need work.

Finished filling out the hoodie 1 this morning, starting filling out the hoodie 2 Monday! Absolutely loved this program, Im bigger and stronger than I’ve ever been. FOTH 2 should be a challenge, then I’m doing arm farm and stacked and jacked next. My pressing in particular has responded like crazy to these programs, likely from the volume on the upper body. Can’t wait to see where the next few months take me. Cheers!

The march to Squatober continues, finished week 2 of Pool Season 2. My personal opinion is the Pool Seasons rank up there as my personal favorite, they just get everything involved during the week.

I haven’t tried the pool season series yet but definitely will soon. Dr. Jacked and Brickhouse both intrigue me a lot too and I want to run both soon. It’s so hard to choose a favorite haha, great programs!

I've ran pool season 2 twice, might be 3x now, I'll have to check my training logs. I ran pool season 1, once. I could alternate pool season 2 and arm farm through the year and be perfectly happy. Only thing I'm missing are the farmers carries Aaron has added to some of the newer programs.

What is it about farmers carry that lights up the forearms? I used heavier dumbbells for sets of 10 rdls where I’m pretty sure I held them longer. 10 lb lighter dumbbells on the carry and I could barely make it without dropping them?

Got a new Texas bodybuilding bar for squatober, well that was my excuse. I love it, knurling is medium but it’s “stickier “ than my Ohio power bar. Damn it has more flex though. That was weird on bench

The supersets from deadlifts to farmers walks made me question if I had any grip strength at all.

Carries are awesome. I just started filling out the hoodie 2 this morning and those farmer walks at the end of the workout were brutal. Will definitely have to check out pool season 2 soon. On a side note, anyone here use a monthly progression scheme for their dips and pull ups? I know wendler released one that looks good on those exercises, was wondering if any have had success with something like that to ensure progression there or if you just stick to the straight reps in the programs.

For more context, here is the article LINK
I’m thinking of just adding it to my dips in the programs to ensure progression because my chin ups have been progressing just fine, so I would leave them as written.

But in a good way.

i just stick to the program but if you wanted, you could do the dips when some form of tricep work is programmed in the cardio section

Question, I'm running HyperTrophy right now. At the end of the 4 weeks I plan on running it again for another 4 weeks.

Should I take another max on my bench,sq,DL for the 2nd 4 weeks? Or just use same max # from 1st time through it?

Try bumping it up 5% and see if you're still able to perform the reps cleanly.
