Decided to hop on the 70s big train this month as well and finished day 2 today, along with a Brian alsruhe conditioning finisher. My legs are absolutely toast.

Committing to some more conditioning though, got a sandbag for Christmas and plan on doing one sandbag day a week.

Love all of the programs Aaron. Excited to see house of 1000 reps, sounds like a really fun one. Happy holidays to you and your family!

I bet, the program looks dense as hell. That’s awesome though, any noticeable muscle gains?

Now that you’re nearing the end how has program stacked up? The volume looks like you’d get jacked as hell or die trying.

In other news, I have 8 days left of BF2. Have really enjoyed this plan, definitely one I’d run again. Plan is still 70s big, but a couple others look enticing too.

Finished day 14 of BF2 today, really enjoying this program. Running it 4x a week and that seems to be the sweet spot for me for benching, 5x beats my shoulders up.

Benching is feeling solid and upper body is looking full, even on a cut. There’s a lot of back, shoulder, and arm work along with all the benching, so I’m feeling great.

Still eyeing 70s big next.

I’m planning on running it when I finish BF2 in a few weeks and start to eat more again. Very excited though, it looks like maybe his best plan for getting huge imo while pushing strength too.

OG hypertrophy looks awesome too, might grab that. Sample workouts look more fun than the new one to me.

I’m actually running BF2 right now, will be doing day 9 tomorrow so relatively early in but have done more or less every style of day he has in the program.

Without giving too much away, I think the way he approaches the bench in each is very different. How much ya bench feels more old school to me, more volume given to accessories and variations rather than just benching. You don’t do straight bench work every day, but you will hit the muscles used in the bench every day.

I would check out the sample workouts posted for how much ya bench. It gives a pretty good idea of what the days are like. I think it looks like it would be a great program to grow your upper body, maybe even more so than BF2, but might not target the barbell quite as hard.

Picked up a couple:
How much ya bench
OG Arm Farm
OG Brickhouse

Honestly really like the look of these older programs, arm farm in particular looks awesome. I think the og looks better than the remastered, but maybe that’s just me.

Excited to run through them.

I just finished week 1 of BF2 running 4x a week and then plan on running 70s big a lot while bulking this year. Looks insane in a good way lol, from the looks of it I think it would be one of his best programs for getting huge if run in a surplus.

Plan on running 2-3 times back to back and then sprinkling in some specialization routines when needed.

BF2 is awesome so far, surprisingly manageable volume wise and very fun to run

This is my plan, I’m cutting for the next couple months to lose a bit of fat and then I’m going to start 70’s big in January and kind of want to experiment with using it as my “default program” for most of the year with a focus on building muscle. My plan would be to run it 4x a week 2-3 times back to back and then choose a plan that is more weak point focused or just as a change of pace before starting again.

It has everything covered that I want in a program. I’m finishing elbow meat now then plan on joining you with BF2 which I’m excited about!

Looks like a good program for maximum thiccness too lol

Good to know, thank you. It looks pretty crushing volume wise to say the least lol, definitely not one id run in a cut, but the 70s powerlifters physiques have always been my goal so I’m pretty excited to tackle this honestly.

16 sets though… holy pump

Looks very interesting. I’m starting a cut in a few weeks but think this might be my next program when I start to eat more. Looks very intense but have to imagine if you ran it a few times back to back in a surplus you’d absolutely blow up.

Definitely want to give this one a shot soon.

Yeah my gym has adjustable benches going as low as 10 degrees, but I’d probably go for like a 30 degree incline. But thank you all, I think I’ll give it a shot

Thanks for the reply. I definitely agree that it feels more functional, so good to see others have seen success doing this.

I like the barbell bench but I think I’ll try this and see what happens! Gains are gains, certainly won’t hurt.

Swapping flat bench for Incline

Posted by Norle19 on 7/25/23 at 3:53 pm
Anyone here have experience with swapping out flat barbell pressing for incline? Would be doing so within the PPSA programs and the main reason would be to try and improve chest aesthetics and have some more carryover to strongman. The incline is more natural for me to get into a proper position to really use my chest, and even though I like to flat bench, I wonder if swapping the two even just for a few blocks might not be a bad idea. Would be doing this in Filling Out the Hoodie if that helps. Thanks
Brickhouse is one I really want to try, probably in the winter when I’m full on bulking. It looks awesome, feel like it would give almost a big strongman aesthetic if done enough over time.

Gotcha, those definitely look good then Imo.

Similarly, I’m planning my next several months and really want to bring up my torso and shoulders. I’m running Arm Farm rn on mini cut and then I’m thinking:
Elbow meat
FOTH2
FOTH2
BF2 ran 4 days a week
Either Stacked Jacked or Periodic Table, but open to suggestions. Again with torso and shoulders in mind.

I think it looks good, meat wagon looks great, would be a good one to turn into a meat fridge lol.

Are your goals mostly full body development right now? Not specific arm or upper body focus?

Only a week until Benchamin Franklin 2 drops! I have my eyes on that one and might run it for a while to bring up my stubborn chest and bench. It sounds robust, excited to check it out.

Today I’ve got Pool Season 2 w2d3. Liking this plan a lot so far. I’m currently in a cutting dilemma, I just started a mini cut about 5 days ago but I get torn between losing some chub or bulking to all out monster mode. Probably will cut just a bit before bringing back the food. Happy lifting all.
