The 35 lbs will be lost in the kitchen and you don’t need legs for it

It's nice going to the pool and having one of the better fit bodies and being 50.

You have plenty of hope.
Start with simple steps:
….Get my fitness app. Start counting your micros. Try to get 1 gram of protein for every pound of lean muscle mass.
Find a place that has an InBody scan..
The scan will give you the numbers.
Really start getting at least 30-50 grams of protein every meal.. it’s takes work but gets pretty easy.
…. Start resistance training. Get an app or find a gym that offers an app with a pre-set work outs. This allows you to show up and just do.
….give up alcohol for 6 months or so.
….be very light on breads and those sort of carbs. Rice is not bad.

Here’s what will happen as you eat protein and resistance train, your body will start losing fat and gaining muscle simultaneously…
Your weight will not rapidly change but your body will.
Learn to do squats, yes even with knee problems. Start light and slowly work your way up..
Your knees will get stronger..

I had so much knee damage from sports. My knee would always hurt and swell up randomly.
I slowly worked my legs. Squats primarily and began to gain strength.
I never really have any knee pain or swelling.
You have plenty of opportunity just get started. In nine months I totally transformed by body through the above mentioned steps.
Eating healthy is easier now and the success contagious.
Good luck
Get started

Why would it adversely affect recovery?
There's a significant genetic component. Some people are fast recoverers, others slow. It's very possible for someone to overtrain by hitting it hard too many times per week. Five days might very much be too much for certain individuals.

I’m not working the same body parts. I work legs on Tuesday and Friday. Shoulders and abs on Thursday, chest and back on Wednesday and biceps/triceps/abs on Monday.

Pray tell. What are indicators that you need more time for recovery?

Every ounce of effort you put into daily workouts you get back and then some with improved sleep and energy. It's such a no-brainer.

Nothing beats cold plunge. More and more are popping up from what I've seen. Its worth it even if its a standalone membership or you have to change clubs.

Imo cold plunge all but eliminates any need for massage or adjustments and basically allows you to never skip a workout day unless you're really throwing around some serious weights

I’m 65 been a hard core multi sport athlete my entire life. Lost my way in my 40’s and got it back in my 50’s. It’s def a mindset and prideful decision to put the work in or not. I do a full body strength workout and 1 hour of stretching 2.5 days a week. I need the energy and endorphins it provides to do all the things I want to do in retirement. It’s all on you no one can make you do it.

cold plunge doesnt help recovery, in fact slows it and also hurts hypertrophy big time. you may feel better, but its not helping in recovery.

Great labs here. Workout 4-6 times a week also. But I’m a bit of a fatty right now (working on it).

My main hurdle is some of the yesteryear effects of athletics and such. Like an old fricking rocking chair.
I do need to up my anti-inflammatory dietary changes. Did it in the past with results.

Is that what I said? You think peak male performance is being a fatass that needs a machine to keep them from suffocating themselves.
