I'm working on my final lab before I graduate and trying to get it done before my GI bill runs out next month so my runs have slipped behind. Hoping too get 8 tomorrow and Sunday but who knows.

10.25 miles on Black Creek Trail. Ran in the Konjoun super socks. Pro tip: it’s hard to get out of zone 2 on a gravel trail in run socks.

7.25 at 13.10 pace that heat and humidity is brutal on the long runs.

I accidentally read this as 13.1 at 7:25 pace and I was like holy shite dude you're just dropping casual half marathons in this heat?
42 miles last week. Same old same old

lol I can’t run that in 50deg temps. I have probably been sitting on 20 a week but work travel and vaction travel has really hurt my weekly average for what I was wanting. I haven’t registered yet but plan to run/walk a 50 at the end of July so will probably start doing some 2 a days while I’m at work for the next 2-3 weeks then taper a week.

7 miles at a 10:20 pace and 140 HR. Been doing progression runs lately: 2 miles at 135, 3 miles at 140, and finished at 145.
Tempo run with the group tomorrow. Really making it a point to hit the weights recently. Hope to see that paying off at some point.

I've been lazy since my spring 100m, but I'm flying out to California tomorrow to pace my buddy at the WSER

I couldn't get started until 930 today, I made it 8.7 miles and blew up. I saw a pond and just fell in it and laid there for several minutes. Got back up and cut through some woods to get back to the car. Absolutely failed myself with nutrition. Underestimated mother nature and humidity, lesson learned.

Made a similar mistake as well. Ran 8 miles Thursday afternoon, 4 miles Friday morning and then spent most of the day doing yard work. Ended up with a headache from being dehydrated. Planned on 18 miles Saturday morning and after 4 miles the headache returned and I stopped sweating. Shut it down and had to walk ~2.5 miles back to my truck. Felt like crap all day Saturday.
I am getting a little worried how I am going to pull off a 50k in 4 weeks. Going to try to get 20-22 miles in this weekend.

How'd it go? I had the live stream on this weekend and would check it periodically. It's amazing how good the footage is for such a remote course.
Another 42 mile week done, 2 workouts.

How was the experience? WSER is an awesome event. Not many races does the everyday joe get to “race” with the level of runners that are there and the crowd of people that show up to support all. Hope you stayed out for golden hour. My SO was out there to pace our friend. She went 23:23. The crazy stat is how was the top end has gotten.

It was incredible! Third coolest temps in race history. Watched the leaders come through Foresthill. They were amazing. My friend blew out his quads and limped to the finish in the golden hour (29:04). I got to run the last 21 miles with him. Met and talked to Scott Jurek when he was working as an AS volunteer. The views were awesome and the crowds and volunteers were great. I also got to do the group run up to Emigrant Pass (first 4 miles of the race) on Thursday. 2300 ft gain in 4 miles.
Bonus: on the flight home, I sat next to Rick Neuheisel and got to talk football.

Dude that’s awesome. Glad you enjoyed it. Did you cross the river or just meet at far side and make the trek up to green gate. I’ve paced the same section. If anyone has the chance to crew/pace at this race do yourself a favor and go or even make the trip and volunteer at an aid station. Hoka sponsorship has taken this event to another level but it’s still 100% nonprofit organization that puts the money back into the community.
My running is terrible but going out to crew / pace BR runner Michael Demarco at cascade crest in two weeks.

They no longer allow crew/pacers across the river (drop bags only), so I had to wait at green gate and go from there. It worked out though... we got him a change of clothes and then moved on. I felt bad for the other pacer though. After 17 miles, his reward was getting to carry all the gear back up the long climb to the parking lot from green gate

7 yesterday after work, being lazy and baking with my daughter today. Goal is for 10 Saturday and Sunday again. Good luck on that 50 in a few weeks, ive got one in November when it will hopefully be nice and cool.

Running my first half tomorrow. Only did one tapered run on Wednesday of this week. Otherwise been walking just for movement. Attempting to wake up early and beat the heat as best I can.
