It’s more embarrassing than usual for me right now. My tempo pace had me leading my Tuesday night group most nights. Now, I’m dead last. It’s a weird dynamic for sure.

Lining up the VO2 test with the local university soon. See what, if any gains I’ve made on my VO2.

1hr on the slide board at 130HR. Like the slide board for cross training.

Brutal hill run tonight. Turned in my two slowest miles in a year or so. Nice little rain right at 5PM really cranked up the heat.

5.5 this morning, 9 pace. Right at 3/4 mile, a good sized black lab got after me. That first mile ended up being my fastest lol. Knee still feels good though, going to hit a trail tomorrow with some buddies.

1 mile WU > 1 mile x 4 @ sub-7

It was HOT and ROUGH but it was successful!

When I got done with the last mile I sat down for 14 minutes, got up to do a cooldown run (which was uphill) - my HR popped back to 160 so I just stopped my run at 5.4, not worth a 160+ HR for cooldown - walked back to my car in Saucony Pro 3s, so great haha

I might do the 3 mile easy run with the run club this afternoon, who knows at this point.

ETA: I did not in fact do the Run Club - ended up cooking dinner for the family instead

yes... I tried to create a run group in Gardendale last year and failed miserably so I felt like I needed to give my time to this one. Unfortunately I'm just busy in the afternoons a lot (or just out of town).

I've been better about going to the Thursday Run Group lately though.

I'm going to try to get way better about Saturday and Sunday going forward as well, I've gotten very lazy in the mornings.

6 in 1 hour even, average HR 180 according to chest strap. It is effing miserably hot.
Did the pre/post run stretches that PT suggested, noticed the run did feel better. PT 3 times a week now for 5ish weeks.
Wish I would've went to doc and started PT when injury first occurred instead of now, but unfortunately God mad men stubborn.

yup, and that's why our life expectancy is shorter

Ran 6 today at Oak Mountain - 8:51 pace and tried to keep my heart rate as low as possible.

Started taking a pack of LMNT a day on Monday, so far so good, I actually felt great on the run today and even though it "felt like 100" outside, I actually felt strong. Think I'm going to keep up with the LMNT, it's been helping with my sleep as well.

180 HR is a VO2 effort for me.

I love beer run groups. My Tuesday night group has some reasonable pacers in it so does the Thursday night group. The Sat long run group does not. Everyone runs too fast. I’ve been going solo on Sat.

The reasonable runners on Saturday go to the 6:30 start time. I've always been an 8:00 - 9:15 pace runner (for my short existence as a runner), so that's never been an issue for me.

ETA: The Sunday morning run group is ALL slow runners

4 at 160HR today, went slow. Been eating in a deficit for 3 weeks straight now and it hit hard today, no energy.
Plus side, for the first time in my life, have been doing what the doc said; stretching several times a day and doing all the pre and post run stretches that always get skipped as well at icing knee after runs and IT band feels normal. Maybe some of the Dr's know something.

Got to run in 63 degree weather this morning. Virtually 0 humidity. Fall can’t come fast enough

Sooo jealous.

75 with 93% humidity for us.

Did 17 @8:43 - had planned for 18 but nope'd out at 17 because I was done and ready to rest. Will still get to 51 for the week, so I'm not complaining.

Need to drop a 20-22 long run the next two weeks. Might drop my schedule to 5 times a week instead of 6 in order to feel my strongest during the long run

Ran a 9ish pace 5k pushing a chariot for Ainsley’s angels.
Best feeling of any race so far, seeing some of those riders faces light up and for just a lil while having fun.
I had signed up several months ago just in case I wanted to just run for “fun” at a race and can definitely say pushing that chariot is so much more rewarding than chasing a PR.

13 on Black Creek Trail today. Did great until the last 3-4 miles. Almost impossible to keep my HR down. Had to run/walk. Taking Sunday off. Monday cross train.

Literally my best run ever. I use HR and distance as my main attribute here.

Most of the run (13ish miles) was 9:50 pace and I hovered around 145 HR. Sped up at the end with a 9:15 mile and finished with an 8:11 mile.

Finally figured out fueling. I've always been a fasted runner because my stomach cant handle food, but that means that I hit the wall at mile 12 every time. Had about 260g carbs yesterday, finished with a bowl of cereal. Banana in the AM with electrolytes and coffee. Mid-run gummy bears and electrolytes. Have never felt better.

I need to work on fueling. I don’t do it. Run fasted and never take anything on my long runs.

Fueling was a game changer for me. Even just a packet of honey midway through a long run makes a huge difference. The data on fueling your runs has come a long way in the last 15-20 years. It's why pros are so big on it now

It’s hard to do it. I just feel so much better fasted when I start the run.

Also it’s not fun slamming fruit at 430 AM for a 6 AM run but it helps so much. It’s unbelievable the difference I feel around miles 9-11 fueled vs unfueled.
