If you have an Adidas outlet nearby, they sometimes get Pro 3’s for $100 or so. Stupid cheap. People post on Running Shoe Geeks FB all the time.
Was just a little too mushy for me personally. I’m a heavier runner and I think I compress foams a little more. I like a bouncy ride, but not soft. For example I’m not a fan of ZoomX foam, though I do race in VF2’s. Hated the OG Peg Turbo and Invincible.
I’m dead in the water on running right now. 2 steps forward and 1 step back has been the theme this fall. My girls got me sick 3 weeks ago, started feeling better, then one of the girls got a nasty nasty virus. She spent the past two days in the hospital. She’s home and okay now thank God…meanwhile I’m sick again and this time it came with a dry cough I can’t shake. Haven’t slept well in 3 weeks and my HRV has been shite for 10+ days.

Jordan didn't like the New Balance Supercomp trainer V2 and neither did I at first.

Damn bro. Hope all is well.

All good, appreciate it. She’s only 17 months old and likely asthmatic but can’t be diagnosed til she’s older. Viruses hit her pretty hard. Have a nebulizer and albuterol at home now so shouldn’t be a problem going forward.

Been there & mine were all good. Hoping for a quick recovery for her!

I'm same as you. I need something cushioned, but not marshmallow soft. I do like the alphafly, but the vf isn't for me. The foam adidas uses in their AP3 is absolutely perfect. I would describe it as dense and bouncy.
My daughter also had issues as a infant.
Rsv sent her to the emergency room. I never get worried when my kids get sick, but I was scared shitless when she turned blue during rsv. breathing treatments really helped and she did get diagnosed with asthma recently.

Just ran my first half marathon after never going over a 15k (which only did once), and man that 11 mile wall hits hard.i was able to finish with an overall 10:09/mile pace which I’m happy with. My main goal was to just not stop so mission accomplished.

12.25 miles today. 1400’ of climb. Mostly zone 2 with two max effort sprints for .25 mile each. Felt great out there. Enjoy this weather while we can bros. It’ll be 90+ degrees again soon.

PR’d in a half today at 1:21:17. Aiming for 2:52-2:55 in Houston in 5 weeks

12 Miles today @7:59
Did my last mile @7:19 - going to start doing stuff like that more often going into Grandma's training. Need to get my "pace miles" to sub-7 and my intervals to sub-6 if possible over the next few months (if I even want to attempt a shot at my very lofty goals for 2025)
Oh look, it's my lofty goals written out to taunt me

13(.1) mile progression long run done. Last 3 were supposed to be at tempo pace but man, I'm fried. It's been a rough week with a sick household, bad sleep, missed runs. First time seeing the half marathon distance so I tried it with no gels or water to see if that's feasible for the race and I think it is.

The half can be done without gels or water - but it's very dependent on the weather and your pace.
At your speed you will be fine without gels on race day (though I would make sure you have eaten something 2 hours before the race if you can...) but if it's hot I would make sure to at least get some electrolytes in your system before the race.
I have horrible cramps, but I've learned to mitigate it by being better with my electrolytes. (My PR in the half could have been 5-8 minutes faster but I got horrible side stitches around mile 10)

Consistent mileage is all it is. I started running in August of 2019 with zero running background. Never know what you’re capable of unless you give it a shot!

consistent mileage... bruh you laid down during a 10k.. hahahaha. i'm going to see how many times i can work that into comments and you know i'm only joking. Yes staying consistent is the way. Great half marathon and hoping you crush it in January.

Any of y'all who have ever run the Louisiana marathon: would I be ok staying at the Lod Cook hotel on campus? I don't want to drive from the North shore on the morning of the race, but the downtown hotels have a 2 day minimum or crazy prices for only 1 day. I figured I could stay at the Cook and the wife and kid could see the race pass at that roundabout on Dalrymple rather than deal with downtown. Thoughts?

10miles at 10.2 pace
28 total for the week.

Have them park at City Park where Park turns into Dalrymple. The race comes down that way and back up for the half and full. We were handing out shots a few years ago over there and it was a fun time. You'll be around 10.5 miles at that point and it may be cooler for you and your family. You can see on the course map what I'm talking about. They'll be able to make it to downtown and park on the side streets to watch you at the finish line if they can park in City Park and exit via Perkins. Take Perkins to I-10, head downtown and find an exit and park there. I've done this for the last 3 years and it hasn't been an issue for me.
