Thanks guys. I’m going to go ahead and get a second opinion not saying your wrong... went into my off week feeling pretty good all things considered, but the immediate deterioration is a concern. For the record, I know what overtraining feels like.

Have you considered maybe it’s your shoes so you just need to buy more? That’s my usual scapegoat.

How do I see the challenges? Do I need to be on premium?

Strava fricked shite up when they premium-ized alot of features. Challenges may have been one of them.

Hell, I probably wouldn't sign up if my company wasn't springing the cost.

No problem. I hope that isn’t it. It just sounded a lot like the descriptions I have heard and read about over the years, and I know you are coming off a heavy training cycle. There are obviously other possibilities, though. Hopefully, it’s something easy to fix. Take care, man.

I’ve had to miss a couple of runs due to near blizzard conditions here the past couple of days. The wind nearly blew my front storm door off the house this morning. I’ve been up since 4:30 contemplating going out in this crap, but it doesn’t seem worth it. I’m going to have to leave 20 minutes early for my commute today too. At least I have a 3 day weekend to try and make up for the missed miles.

Thanks Pat. Went to the doctor. Some of the symptoms are allergies and being 40. They’re treating me for the flu which makes sense, because this feels like the flu. Got my COVID-19 test tomorrow. Fun fact: none of the clinics take referrals around here. Gotta max profit from this shite. Sheesh.

Geeze. Glad to hear you went and got it diagnosed. I got my first COVID shot/ tracking device at work yesterday. My sinuses have been a constant pain in the rear this year, mostly due to being inside in the forced air more and the stupid masks, but I haven’t had any viruses like I usually do this time of year. I work in a hospital, and my wife runs a daycare. Between the two of us, we live in a virtual petrie dish.

On the phone app tap the “Explore” icon at the bottom and “Challenges” should be an option on the task/menu bar at the top.

Got five in this morning at 8:16 pace and the last mile at 7:36. Perfect weather at just under 50 degrees. I've got a virtual 5k coming up. My goal is to break 24:00. I think I am about there. Usually whatever pace I can muster in the last mile of a 5 mile training run, working hard, is what I can average for a 5k.

I have this strange discomfort when I straighten my knee and I feel a weird clicking/pop when I do it.

I've never injured myself running before. Any thoughts?

I decided late to try for the January 300km challenge. I had three down days early month and ive been pulling 7.5m/12.2kms daily to try and catch up.
Sitting at 135km today.

My go-to for most knee pain is warm packs wrapped into position behind the knee. I've been told it helps diffuse the fluid build-up in the joint.

For those of y’all in need of a face pronto, there is apparently a half marathon in Biloxi on Jan. 30 or 31. It starts at the Golden Nugget casino, I believe.

I won’t be ready but some of y’all might be interested.

Roots is looking great out there and each time I saw him he was pushing his pack.

I targeted 1:55:00 and had a very comfortable & smooth 1:52:30.
