Currently 195.6 lbs

Down from 236 in February after a trip back home (crawfish, pizza, whiskey, jambalaya, etouffee, canes, etc.)

I use MFP to track my calories. Running about 3-4 times a week. Full body body-weight workout after an hour on the exercise bikes on Saturdays during games and on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Workout today:
5 mile run to the park
stretch at park
2 mile run back home

Like to take the edge off of Monday with longish slow runs. I usually ramp up the speed and lower the distance by the end of the week. Wednesday will be trying to get under 8:00 for my 5k.

I see the Fenix 5+ is part of Prime Day for $399 for anyone looking for a watch. I am, but not sure if I am gonna stick with Garmin or not. Not to mention everyone that I see running with a Fenix series on Strava, the elevation seems to be bonk.

I came here to post that too. except my deal said $349.

BTW, I didn't get my 14 miles in. I have a good excuse, my daughter's bday, but disappointed with not getting it in.

New week and find the next thing to get me motivated.

I'm in the market for a new watch. Had been looking at the Polar grit X. Currently I have the m430. I've been a Polar guy for almost 20 years now. Seeing the Fenix 5 plus for so cheap may be just enough for me to jump ship.

Grit @ $429 vs Fenix 5 plus @ $349.

Also Jackrabbit has the Fenix 5s for $345.

Anyone care to nudge me either way?

I have the fenix 5S with sapphire screen and really like it. I use maybe 1/3 of the potential of it but I like the smaller footprint compared to the regular 5.

According to the Garmin website Amazon music is supported. I do not own one so I cannot verify that.

Wednesday workout: 3 up 3x5k 3 down 4 min. jog between sets @ or around marathon tempo.

First 2 in the high 17s then I decided to pour some gas on it, and turned in a 16:23.

16.5 total miles

Last day of summer, baws! Time to race.

There are no races. Someone needs to start organizing Strava races based on a long segment.

I raced last weekend and there is a Turkey Trot for sure in BR, along with the Miss Gulf Coast stuff coming up in the beginning of December. Hoping some more start to trickle in.

And I would compliment you on that workout Burt and ask you what shoes you wore , but I wouldn't want to rile you up!

You could just do a deep dive stalker job on the Strava record and find out for yourself.

Skechers Razor with a big ole hole in em and the tread “removed”. I’m cool with people commenting. It’s the “wow I wish I was that fast and if you’ll let me run with you on my terms where I have everything to gain and you have nothing to gain but a disruption in your routine” crowd that agitates me.

There are two races scheduled That are still going on in the region and have been marked by the admins on the Strava group. MGC and White River.

On the real doe, I am going to heed your advice and look at doing longer warm ups prior to speed work. Will be much easier once it gets cooler of course.

This sounds fun to try but at more normal human paces. I'm thinking:

3 WU
3x5k @ 10K or HM (8:00-8:30) Pace w/ walk/jog rest between
3 CD

I got to work today and there were two flyers for upcoming races in November. One is 5K/10k and the other is turkey trot 5k. It gives me something to look forward to.

Got in a decent workout this morning: 1.5 WU/CD, 5 x 1K @ 6:20 with .25 recovery jog.
