ditto. finished a run, my watch said transfer failed before i even opened the garmin app, and then i got a notification from Strava that my run had posted.
Garmin's trying, but they're still effed.
On the other hand, i had two runs this last week with a couple of guys that just asked to run with me randomly. both were about 10:00+ pace and i just decided to hang with them, if not leading them by a little bit, instead of pushing them since i've had an off year. i have to admit running is more enjoyable at 10:00 pace as opposed to pushing myself too hard to get under 8:30. i know that's not the goal, but it made for a better experience.

It probably originally uploaded to China and they were cool enough to send it back to your Strava. I wouldn't count on that as a long term solution.

I see the Mississippi Gulf Coast half & full is open for registration and says "in-person"...
Anyone here still considering it ?
I'm still down to travel in from Houston for the half if enough people decide.

Hogbody,
They even have a 5K the day before the half/full which gives options for the TD/Strava group ...I know people are hoping to get some 2020 races in...
We could rack up some age group medals for the TD trophy case & hope someone can run 16:59 to win the whole thing for us

Headed to Colorado Springs for the weekend. Gotta find a nice spot for my long run on Friday. Training for a half at the end of August

I'm considering the full. Houston is a month later, but I feel like I need to make up for the lack of races this year.
My back has returned to 100% and it has taught me that I really need to put more focus on my core workouts.
I foolishly signed up to run the Virtual NYC Marathon through Team for Kids. I have to fundraise $500 by Sept 30th, then run a virtual full by Nov 1. That will get me guaranteed, non complimentary, entry to a future NYC marathon in 2021, 2022, or 2023. My family really loved our trip last year and I honestly haven't stopped thinking about the race and wanting to do it again so this was a great opportunity.
Once I get my fundraising page setup, I will share with everyone. If you'd like to contribute great, if not no worries. I don't want to push it on people.

I registered for 5K & half. If it falls through I'll hope for something fair but since this has started , I almost assume my registration fees are long gone & hope for the best.

Hey everybody, I am fighting a long-running depression that seems to have been brewing for a couple of years now. I decided a few months ago to start running again - I'm 38 years old 6 ft. 1, 200 pounds, skinny-fat type build.
To start I was really motivated to build a habit of running - ran 5 laps on a track that I think is 4.25 laps/mile every day for a month to build the habit, then started incorporating rest days. Since then I have increased my distance and speed, but I am losing the habit, and I don't know if I can save this kick or if it's winding down.
Looking for some motivation to get the habit back before it completely dies. Most days I just want to do nothing, but when I make myself run, I feel good after. Well it does take a toll on my legs/knees, but mentally I usually feel pretty good after.

Sorry to hear that you're going through depression. As any illness or disease (not meant to stigmatize depression), it's important to treat the symptoms holistically (not holistic medicine, that's nonsense). That treatment involves therapy, exercise, and sometimes medication, hobbies, etc...
I regularly see a therapist even though I feel great, I run like a striped assed ape, because it helps me feel good even when it sometimes hurts my body, and I'm constantly looking for ways to feel fortunate/blessed. These are the methods I use to "stay in the light", if you will.
It's about repair then maintenance for me. Right now I'm in maintenance mode, have been for years, and hope to stay there.
The analogy I use is: "It's like car ownership, you still get the oil changed when the engine is running well. And the engine runs well because you are performing that maintenance".
Oh, and if you drink, stop immediately. It'll feel bad at first because you'll be forced to deal with your thoughts, but then everything will change afterwords. You'll feel better, have more energy, money, etc. I used to smoke and overdrink because it was my coping mechanism, now exercise is. Cheers, baw. Now go for a run.

I know they might be hard to find right now, but the best motivation to run is signing up for a race.
Or find a running partner.

My advice is try another physical activity if you don’t have the passion right now. Just get out there and do something. But don’t force it.

Consider talking with your doctor about a stimulating antidepressant like Wellbutrin if you haven’t already. It would help you with the amotivation and anhedonia it sounds like you are struggling with.

So ready for some cooler weather . I've been keeping my runs pretty short this summer. (3-5mi) I haven't posted in this thread in a while but just wanted to give yall baws a shoutout for the good work. I see yall putting in work on strava.

No excuses here. For the next 10 days, we will have highs in the 70s and lows in the 60s and even 50s some days. Should be some really nice morning runs. Now, cleaning the pool might be a little uncomfortable.

Y’all it was low/mid 60s this morning. Amazing.

Was out for a week recovering from wisdom teeth surgery. Easy 3 to get back into the swing of things today went well.
Got some Hoka Rincons too and have high hopes. Might be my Goldilocks shoe. Upper is fantastic and fits perfect, cushion is perfect, smooth to run in at all paces, and light weight. Didn’t notice the lower drop at all either. Can’t wait to get a long run in them.
