I use the Polar M430 and it syncs with my Strava and Training Peaks easily. No need to bring my phone on my run. Sometime I do, sometime I don't. Crazy as it sounds, I run better with music that way I can't hear my breathing. Although some days, like yesterday, I'll run out the door without my phone, earbuds, etc. Less crap to keep up with and manage.
I like TP, but I don't pay for the premium version, so it won't let me reschedule some of my workouts. Not a huge deal as the weekly mileage adds up, but I like to see all green. Or I could just spring and pay for the premium version.
Do any of you pay for the premium version of Strava? What are the useful perks that you like, if so?

Saturday long run was 14 at 8:53 avg pace

I pay for it and it was only like 50 bucks for the whole year. I don't really take the premium perks that seriously. I like it really for the novelty of the pace analysis, heart rate analysis etc.
I guess it adds some tangibility to your fitness level but it doesn't tell me anything after a run that my body wasn't telling me during the run.
They have the one month free trial so it's pretty low risk. Just remember to cancel if you don't like it.

2 miles comfortably fast this afternoon. Didn't wear any tech so I ran by feel.

4.5 @ 8:30 lunchtime run today... reminded me why I never run during the middle of the day.

Thanks, I may check out the trial offer and see if it offers any data I can’t get through Polar/TP/Strava. I’ve morphed into a data geek.

Been doing this way too much lately.

4 miles this morning at 545am. Nice cool 69 degrees with high humidity and mugginess. Better than 74 with high humidity and mugginess.
On another note, I might be getting a used Phoenix 3 for $50.

yeah. i've enjoyed the temp drop, even if the humidity hasn't fallen yet.
still drenches me by the end of it, but feels way better.
7 miles yesterday across two runs. so far the skechers don't suck. i may be a believer.

Was on vacation last week, but proud of myself as I got in my 3 scheduled runs. My eating was not the best though..oh well back to normal eating this week.
2.5 miles
4 miles
7 miles
Did the 7 miles half on the beach, felt great running right by the water and with a breeze. 7 miles is the longest I have ever run, so was a good accomplishment for me.

during the fall and spring i usually get about 10 miles in a week at my kid's practices. one of them practices by a river walk and the other by the HS track.
my wife thinks i should sit and watch (but she doesn't take them to practice unless she has to when i'm out of town.) eff that.

Yeah I don’t see the need of sitting there watching a bunch of 5 year olds chase a soccer ball around. I do that at the games already

my wife thinks i spend too much time running. anytime that comes up, i ask her " can you name the last full waking hour i missed being with our family because of running?"
and her answer is 0. because i am done running before they're awake or within 20 minutes of them waking up, running during practices where my kid doesn't even know i'm there, or when i travel and wouldn't be around them anyways. shuts that talk down pretty quickly. i wake up at 5 AM so I can do my hobby and NOT miss a minute with y'all.

Start doing triathlons and she'll be begging you to go back to "just" running.

I specifically chose this year to do my biggest undertaking due to wife having an "off season" with her job and my industry being very slow. I could get off work at 3 pm (or earlier) pretty regularly and my wife did not have events for work on the weekend during the winter. If I wasn't in sales (a lot of freedom) or had more than one kid, I don't know how I could do it. I regularly go swim for a 2 hour lunch. Or head out at 2:30 to get a run in before the family gets home. Only time I really see the huge affect is long runs/rides on the weekend. A 3-6 hour workout is hard to get done completely during time that doesn't affect family.
But now I plan to do half ironman events or less and my max workout is around 3 hours. Start at 5 on a weekend and family is just getting started when I'm done.

4 miles this afternoon, 85 feels like so getting better, still drenched in sweat though. 8:28 pace. Last mile was 8:10. First run in the Escalantes. I like.
