Run group this AM. 30 degrees but no wind or rain.

Paced with the 9/min group for 10 miles. Met some great people. The pace setter and I finished strong doing the last 4 miles all under 8:30/mile. News shoes did great. Total pace was 8:45/mile which is better than my fastest 10k pace. Today was this guy’s “easy” run. Heart rate never got above 171 so I felt good about it.

Perfect temp for a long trail run this morning. Went 13.5 miles at a super easy pace. 1500ft elevation gain. Ditched my pack and went with the handheld water bottle today. Like it much better. Prob will switch back once it warms up though

8 miles in 1:09:09 today (8:39 pace).

I’m happy with it. Will probably skip my long run next Saturday (9 miles) due to it being Endymion Saturday.

Nowhere near the shape I was in a year ago but getting better. Weigh about 20 pounds too much.

I think so. Not signed up yet but been considering it. Don’t think I’ve raced since May.

I’ll be considerable behind last years time. But should improve a little the next 6 weeks.

I love running in a random place while out of town and it ending up being a great run. Was in Tallahassee visiting my son, staying at a generic hotel with no good running immediately nearby. But a 15 min drive away was a park with miles of running, mountain biking and equestrian trails; on the northern edge of Lake Jackson. Only touched 1/10 of the trails on my run so have some more exploring to do next time I visit.

Right on man. I'll be there. We'll see what happens but I'm thinking 5:45ish and just hanging on for dear life until mile 12 when I'll blow up (just like everyone else will).

Been beat up a little lately but felt good yesterday. Back to workouts this week after taking the last couple off.

I just watched the race video of Cheptegei breaking the 5K road world record yesterday in Monaco. 12:51. Insane and a sight to see.

Four miles in 33:16 (8:19 pace).

Two tomorrow, three Wednesday.

Half marathon is one month and four days away! If I don’t get too drunk Friday night, I may try and run Saturday morning. I probably just ought to enjoy Endymion Saturday though

2nd place ran 13:18, the previous “official” world record, and wasn’t even in the picture

Have fun at Endymion. It’s a big krewe, but look for a very loud-mouthed (in a good way) guy from Hattiesburg. He’s a good friend of mine.

And skip the run on Saturday. Allow me to try to catch up to your time.

I ran 8:45 across 9.44 on Sunday. Not a great run-I had to stop 4 times to stretch or adjust my new shoes-but not terrible, either. The cooler weather helped, though

I’ll be skipping a couple runs this week because of work and family obligations and just to rest a little. You’re in no danger of me catching you.

If you beat me, that’s fine. I just wanna finish under two hours. That’s my only goal.

Speaking of that, my final four weeks look like this:
Monday - Tuesday - Wednesday - Saturday
4 - 2 - 4 - 10
4 - 2 - 4 - 11
4 - 2 - 4 - 12
4 - 3 - 0 - race

Do you think I could go 5-2-4 or 5-2-5 on M, TU, W and not experience any issues? I want to make sure I have enough gas in the tank to finish strong in my big runs.
