Was that you in the gray LSU shirt I talked to on the course? I heard a loud go tigers and thought it was for my shirt and saw everyone yelling at you.

Jumped back in the ring with track intervals this morning.

4 sets of 600m, 200 rec, 300m, 100 rec, repeat

Dead.

I will not take another break like I have. I am learning the hard way that consistency is what builds, I have GOT to run.

If anyone here was planning on doing the Veterans 10k in NOLA this weekend (think only B&G was but he had to reschedule) be advised they’ve moved the race to South Shore Harbor where the WWII Museum does the PT boat rides. Race starts at 8:30 am.

Been a major lack in communication with this race, to be expected for a first inaugural race I guess.

Negative. I was talked into a bright pink shirt so my family could find me on 1st Ave. Did have a LSU hoodie on in the Blue Start Village.

Rick, I figured that's what you were training for. I'm basically re-doing the last 11 weeks of my NYC plan with more intensity and strength training on M-W-F.

I feel like my legs were weak toward the end and I needed more work at longer intervals.

I gave a few people a Geaux Tigers while on the course. Someone cheering around Mile 11 or 12 in Brooklyn had a purple long sleeve shirt on and then someone on 1st Ave near my family had an LSU hat.

I'm on day 3 of severe heel pain, so I broke down and went to see a podiatrist. According to x-rays it appears I have a bone spur that could have broken off during or around the marathon.

One month of no running, PT, and prescription Motrin. Decision on surgery will happen after a month. At least I hadn't yet signed up for a Turkey Trot.

Ouch. I'd probably go ahead and just get it taken out if you have that option.

Damn man that sucks, I’m keeping the bench warm for you at least.

Patrick - Are you local to BR? Not sure if you’ve been following but I had an unexpected stroke recently, right in the middle of a training block. Needless to say, it’s caused some anxiety which I’ve never had before. Don’t wanna get on meds, but wouldn’t mind talking to a therapist that can relate. I think I saw in the other thread that you’re a therapist?

I am. I live in Kansas, but I could give you some help with finding the right provider in the BR area.

Thanks TigeRoots. Hope things are on the up and up for you. And LSUPatrick for the recommendation, which I will most likely do if this PT doesn't help.

Damn that is a heck of a week. I am prepping for the LA full and am a bit behind. My goal is to finish, but I would love 4:30. Yesterday I got a solid 4 mile in at 8:30 per. I am doing 8 miles Saturday at a 9:30 or so pace. Trying to go easy because the inside of my calves get more tender than I want this far out.
