Looks as though Burt is the first TD runner to exceed the 1K mile marker for the year. He should probably work on getting faster now.

My main road/sidewalk trail has numerous gas stations and a park. It just happened to hit about a mile away from any of those.

Peeing on that path is fine as long as I get away from the plebes walking their dogs. Lots of trees to jump behind. Pooping is a whole different matter.

Poop on the trails and get caught and you can just pretend you’re a hobo.

He and Hogbody have killed it.

I think you’re #3 and Roots and I are almost to 500. I’d like to be north of 600 before June hits but don’t know if that’s possible. Maybe the hiking in CO this month will help me catch up a bit.

Yeah, I'm at 497, 70 or so ahead of my 1,200 goal. I should shatter it barring any unforeseen.

Hiking didn't move my weekly/yearly mileage in Strava. Which is fine, as I didn't intend for it to.

Burt aint no spring chicken either. Impressive how he holds up with all that mileage. Must have a wife that gives him frequent massages.

FWIW, PHB has to have more mileage than me, unless we're excluding treadmill miles. Which we should, because dem aint real miles.

Pretty sure PHB was late to the party and may not have been in the group all year.

Dreading possible treadmill miles this afternoon, depending on the weather.

I was late building miles this year too so my average will have to be 32/week to get to 1500.

I'm healthy & marathon plan has me around 35-42 in December but I have no wiggle room at all.

It does motivate me to not skip or cut it short since I need everyday.

Just checked and its 464 for the year.

I’m at 668 so far this year. I got on Strava late last year. I’m gonna have to take some time off next week though. Going in on Monday to get the old snip, no one needs any more little PHBs running around.

Those treadmill miles should count double brah. Those are hard miles. I hate running on the treadmill

I got the snip a couple years ago. You probably won't be out more than a couple of days. Gotta tell you though, the incision and subsequent stitch are in the most inconvenient spot.

Don't tell the wife and see if she gets pregnant. It's a fun little game to play.

Pro-tip: bring a $100 and have your doctor double the amount of times you need to empty the barrel before going unprotected again for your followup.

Whats wrong with counting treadmill miles? My watch typically shows less mileage than the treadmill does. It's boring AF, and sometimes I can't run until 9PM and I'm sure as hell not doing that outdoors. I don't live in the hood or anything, I just dont trust or expect people on the road to be looking for someone running at 9PM at night.

In other news, I decided to drop the whole c25k plan. I decided to slowly increase run distance until I can phase out walking entirely by early June. First week of June I'm going to Punta Cana for our 10 year anniversary and I do not anticipate much running while there. I think I will have to run at least once, just so I have a cool location on Garmin. By the end of June I also hope to have "long" runs back in the 10 mile or more mark.

3NO: isn’t this where I say congrats on the secks? I like your idea, need to inflate some numbers for sure

We have sechs a normal to above average amount. I’m happy with it.

That month between vasectomy to bringing the jar in to make sure the tubes were cleaned was a marathon. Mainly because my doc did legitimately tell my wife double what he told me. He got a fistbump and a 5* yelp review.

Thanks for the Strava love guys. Dissapointed to be honest. I wanted to be 15-20 seconds faster. Tough course bad conditions but I still should have been 15-20 faster. I failed my training.

I know that you have high expectations for yourself and you deserve them for the work you put in.

But I hate you.

Thanks dude. My actual 5K time 17:36 (long course) so I'm there. My training said I was closer to 17:10-15. I should have been third. I ran a really poor race, strategy wise. The guy that finished 3rd that got me by like 15 seconds I beat by 10 sec. in an 8K and two minutes in a half. Just not my day. We'll get it in the fall.

Does anyone have any advice on purchasing a trail running shoe? I am looking for something a little grippier for trails that may still have snow and may be muddy. I anticipate using the shoe for hiking and running and want something light enough to do both.

I currently run in the asics gel-nimbus. TIA

ETA: I see now that I missed the thread specifically for shoes.

I forgot to mention I had a run at 54 degrees this morning, in the Middle of May... in Texas.

Barely getting above 60 today.
