For anyone thinking about running one of the races during the Louisiana Marathon, rates go up on May 13. I signed up for the marathon for under $100.00

Burt,

Did you have these high volume weeks scheduled last December as you were planning for 2019 or are you adjusting based on your body and current goals/recalibrated stretch goals ?

They were planned but I wasn't quite sure when I'd get to them.

I've been lucky to feel real good this year. Haven't hit all my speed goals but my distance goals are coming along nicely.

5K

Roots, my stomach is always looking for an excuse to get down there. Arkansas rice fuels me, Texas beef helps me recover, but Louisiana crawfish and gulf oysters keep me happy.

Do y'all have auto pause on during your runs?

For instance I always pull my phone out and unlock it right before the end of a run. I would much rather just stop and then take care of that.

I know it is only a few seconds I'm losing if I did so but it wondering if auto pause would handle that.

Does anyone know if auto pause gets screwy either if enabled ?

I don’t like it. It takes too long to register I’m moving again.

I’d rather get burned by forgetting to start it after a break than being it taking 45 seconds of a break to figure out I stopped and another 45 seconds to figure out I’m going again.

Really impressed with the interface and ease of the VDOT/Daniels training program. It automatically links the workouts/sessions to your VDOT calendar & Garmin. With all of the paces based on your VDOT automatically input. Also, it constantly updates the paces based on your training/races.

Only thing I have to compare it to thus far is Higdon/Training Peaks and I like the Daniels layout much better.

Ran 4.0 on Saturday
Woke up Sunday with a very painful right foot. Still hurts, although it’s getting better. It’s painful on the outside arch area in my mid-foot. Tender each time I step but not to the touch and not swollen.

Frustrating to have a great week last week and be sidelined this week

I've used it in the past, but stopped using it. It takes a little to long to actually pause and even longer once you start going again. It's also much easier IMO to just use the buttons on the watch.

Well, it finally happened to me this morning after 2 years of serious running. Nature called at 4:45, 2+ miles from the house with no bathroom in site.

It was a very uncomfortable return trip to say the least.

Relatively easy 10k this morning at 7:54/mile avg pace.
Humid out but felt good with easy breathing. Makes me not feel as bad for taking it easy the last week or 2

Never even felt the urge that early in the morning before. Usually I have to stop an hour or so into my long runs and plan my route based on bathroom availability.

This one took me by surprise to say the least. Splits went negative real quick.

CFA spicy chicken sammich haunted my long road run this afternoon. I was 2 miles from a park when it hit and limped in there.

This is why I run trails guys.

Luckily for me there is a new subdivision being built along my route. The roads are paved but closed to traffic. I was able to go to get off the road and squat in peace and shame.
