The Boston women’s starting line looks like a Nike 4% ad.

Looks like back to Kenyan and Ethiopian dominance again.

Tommy Rivs is tracking pretty solid though.

I prefer it because you need to stay focused. Rocks, roots, & ruts.

Damn, what a finish!

Hoping Jordan Hasay can be the next big thing on the woman's side.

I’ll hit you up on there before next weekend and get your # for the CCC. Man the strawberry sprint has me intrigued, but I’ll prolly pass. Just gonna hit some easy miles in the am and then our neighborhood crawfish boil after. Gonna keep it pretty much easy all week prior to Saturday.

Sounds good

Me and lead guy had separated ourselves some with 2 guys behind us (all about :30- 1 min apart) got directed on a wrong turn by a cop. Ran an extra .25 miles and met the guy breaking the tape as we got back to the finish line. My 5k time (I stopped my watch and restarted to find the finish line) was 19:59, the placing worked out cause the guy breaking tape was in 20-29 division and me and other guy were in 30-39 but my PR is 19:57 and I know I could have broke it if I saw the finish with my finishing kick coming in. Oh well, shite happens, onto CCC

Taper miles and effort most of the week before Saturday. Lift legs today and shut them down, lift upper body on Wednesday

Damn that sucks about the wrong turn. Am I looking at the results back in that a 22:00 won it? Damn, I should have made the trip over for that one, coulda broke the tape by a few mins!

CCC week looks like this for me:

Mon - 3 Easy
Tues - 30 Min (10 easy/10 tempo/10 easy)
Wed - Maybe some 400's and/or a few easy
Thurs - 90 min massage/2-3 Easy
Fri - Off

Will do my normal stregth/core work a few days out of the week, nothing crazy, even keel.

Nice! I've been pathetically inactive.

Yesterday, my brother and I started our training program for the Marji Gesick 100miler (Sept 20-22) I don't see how a race in MI, even in the UP and 100 miles long, could possibly have 12k-ft gain. That has me more concerned than the distance.

I'm doing the Missoula Marathon June 30. Maybe the SnowBowl 15K again in August. That was a great run and good elevation-gain training. No Golden Leaf for me this year unless someone has a number to transfer and I pull off a domestic mircacle.

I'm way out of shape and have little training time, but we'll see. Two summer months in MT should help the cause.

Posterior tibialis is still iffy and yesterday my right knee--which has never given me issues--felt weird.

old. i'll K keep you posted!

I happened to notice we ran over 800 miles as a group last week. Pretty sure that's a new high for us.

Pretty sure this has been discussed, but this thread is way too long to go back and find certain posts. Anyone have a handheld water bottle they can recommend? Looking mostly for comfort. I am gravitating toward a soft flask, unless one of you advices otherwise.

I have a very bulky Camelback handheld that I use, but I'd like to upgrade soon also. Walmsley had one on IG that was pretty cool looking, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I wanna say it fit like a glove, so you didn't really have to burn any energy holding it, etc.

Going for a gait analysis tomorrow at Oschner in BR. Not sure what to expect, other than some treadmill running of course. Supposed to be about a 90 minute ordeal. Hope they don't tax me too hard on race week!

I hear they make you grab your ankles and cough, followed by a video taped conversation on an old black couch.

Yowza! That'll do wonders for a race week taper eh?

Yea, me and the guy in front of me's time had an extra .25 tapped on it

I was 19:59 at 5k mark and he was probably around 18:45 or so. They didn't fix the times because it didn't effect the awards, if you would have stayed on the right course you would have definitely broke the tape. Problem was the first 4 people all were directed wrong and we were a few mins ahead of anyone behind us

I think I'm at Lactate Threshold just from reading that.

Reading some Boston Marathon accounts from yesterday on Instagram, most of it sounds pretty painful/miserable. Nobody said it was easy, eh. Not that I would ever qualify for Boston but for any Marathon outside of the flat earth deep South, I'd have to do major hill training.

I HATE running with water but I usually do this one. It’s fine for what it’s supposed to do. I don’t notice it that much.

I have a camelback for long trail runs as well. Meh.

I'll probably pick one up from Academy tomorrow for Sedona next week.

I was thinking about getting this one. Soft flask with what appears to be a comfortable hand strap. FWIW, I found on some other sites for less than $50.
