Roots,
Just in the watch looking arena, Garmin Instinct and vivoactive 3 seem to be popular choices.
I’ve heard about Coros and know a few people that are big fans but I haven’t ever really tried them.

Yeah I am looking hard at the Forerunner 235; but will check those also.
Read mixed reviews on the Coros, but anything is better than this garbage I have on my wrist. Spent all day trying to Sync it, as you saw, finally just did it manually based on the Polar stats.

Forerunner 235 is a “discontinued” model in that they’re not updating it. Instinct and vivoactive3 are the replacements.

Ah, good to know. Going to the local hiking store this week for my wife to gear up for Sedona. Will probably grab one there.
Vivoactive 3 ordered, will be here Monday.

Finished the CCC in just under 54 mins!
Was aiming for under an hour (my previous best was around 1:05) with 55 mins being the absolute best I could do and crushed that as well!

Cool. I’ll get one of those two by end of the year unless I go crazy and get a Suunto or Coros.

Suunto seem cool
Might as well just get a Fenix!

Great day for some recovery miles today; got 6 in.
Does anyone else eat like complete shite post race? Scale says I put on 5#’s yesterday. I swear I was eating and drinking like I just burned 10,000 cals in an Ultra or something, lulz.
Burt - you mentioned consistency and it was definitely there after mile 1 (got caught in traffic/bottleneck), just not as fast as I hoped for. Was steady picking people off though.

Anytime run with a purpose or push it it’s as if I can’t eat enough. Some days I think all I do is eat and yet I am down 20 lbs since January, the first 15 was planned.

Treat it like a tempo workout, hop back out and try again in a few. You're about where I was seven months ago if that helps any. Those are very similar numbers to my first 15K last September.

Thanks for the words/advice, Burtemis. Definitely looking to hop in another one if I can find one that fits the work/home schedule, prior to HM training that starts in June for the Jazz Half in Oct. And comparisons of me to you at any point literally make me LOL! Your talent is blinding you! Ha

Today was one of those days that make me want to quit running altogether

I hope the local weathermen get fingered by a yeti. Haven't got anything right in 2 months. Weather is looking pretty rough this April so far and the summer is probably going to be bad if we're this hot already. I'm learning to add 5-8 degrees to the temperature and 10-15 mph to the wind forecasts in general. Hope you get the next one HB.

About to finish a homemade 3-week training plan for a sprint duathlon (5K Run, 20K bike, 2.5K run). Plan to finish the sprint duathlon in under an hour and a half this Friday. I want to move to marathon training thereafter. Any good recommendations for a beginner? I have been running pretty easily in the 8:15-8:30/mi range for my duathlon training. I’d like to run the marathon in under 3 hrs 45 mins, preferably in 3 and a half hours.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Primary goal going into CCC was to get a poster for the first time
Secondary goal was to go sub 43
41:35!!! I was pumped, I was able to hold the pace longer than I expected and surprised myself.

What do you need to do to get a poster?

Top 500.
I saw you mentioned a HM plan earlier - I’ve used Hal Higdon in the past, he’s pretty basic but good. Will use Daniels this go round as it’s pretty flexible and best for my schedule, especially when/if I decide to do a Full.
