Yet hundreds of people did it.

The one I posted is a chick that just ran 200 miles out at the franklin mountains 2 weeks ago. Absolute monster of an endurance runner.... that is a crunchy stay at home homeschool mother of 7.

We could all beat her in any race under a marathon but she could outlast every one of us.

The Franklin Mtns course was pretty, the 200s in Tahoe, WA, and Moab are beautiful.

I can't imagine the masochism it takes to run that many miles on a 1 mile loop or out and back course.

I’ve done a bit out at Franklin. It’s great out there.

The Strava group photo is of my trek up there. Which I’m totally open to changing if the group would like. I’d love some swamp trail running photos if anybody wants to submit.

One of the guys in the local trail running group did that “race”. He only did the 12 hour version though.

He complained about the amount of people that just walked the whole time.

I think he won his age group.

But yeah, there is no way you could get me to sign up for that.

Got in 16 today. Not sure I’ve ever been more hungry at the end of a run

I frequently run through some picturesque swamp area. I'll bring my phone next time and get you a solid pic.

Super. I’m not that swampy in my area but the photo should match the site.

I ran a marathon just a few weeks ago, in 45 degree weather and finished without stopping once the entire 26 miles.

Yesterday, I try to run just 9 miles, but it was pushing 80, and I had to stop several times.

Y’all take a phone and instagram some photos up and I’ll post them.

I feel like I should do more as a group leader or something, but I’m awful at leading things.

Anybody recommend a speed workout for this Tuesday (no access to track at the time this will be taking place)? I'm 3 weeks out from my target 5K and looking to increase leg turnover in the worst way.

Since I've been kind of shooting from the hip and doing a variety of different races at different times, I've been just looking at a Higdon plan for the given distance and loosely hopping on it a few weeks out. He would have me doing 10x200/200 jog rest for this workout, once warmed up. Thoughts?

I’m no expert by any means, but 200s seems awfully low? I would think more like 800s and then do some hills and strides on other days?

Curious what Burt thinks

Some 200s with a jogged recovery to make it almost like a fartlek wouldn't be bad for turnover work. He could also throw in strides after his distance runs if he doesn't already. Good for turnover and form.

A man often finds himself lost when he's running to get time away from his family.

How common is it to have a pretty sore foot after a half marathon? The edge of my right foot is pretty damn sore when I walk, but not to the touch.

This area of my right foot is in a perpetual sate of soreness. Tried rolling it and having my wife massage it, but ended up even more enflamed. I assume it's tendinitis, and the only real remedy is rest.

Distance is relative based on how quick you can run. I’d go for time over distance in this case.

200s are great if you’re getting vO2 work in IMO (also the go to cure all on this board for some reason). A bunch of 800s are more a threshold workout for most guys like us (too long unless you’re pace training your 5k speed)

In his situation, I’d do 12-16 one minute fartlek with equal jog rest @ speed pace (faster than 5k pace) since we’re trying to get in 5k shape. It’s a good confidence building workout that will get you used to running fast but controlled.

Ultimately, do what you like my opinion ain’t worth shite and I’m not a coach.
