BTW, I stretch but not too much. I also foam roll to work out the sore muscles.

Yeah, me either. Sometimes, I'll do a small warm-up before I start, but that's about it.

Thanks for posting your schedule, good to see what an actual coach is laying out. Looks like you're putting in some good strength/endurance work early on in your build-up to that May marathon

I’m not a huge fan of stretching cold muscles, but how about foam rolling? OK to roll cold muscles (first thing in am, etc)..?

Anyone interested in getting together at a centrally located half/full marathon in the spring? Thought it would be good fun to get several of us in a race together. I would be willing to drive to East TX or Arkansas to run with you guys.

I’d definitely be interested in taking a look at that, if we can come up with a race. I was actually looking at traveling to the Woodlands Half on 3/02. Although not really close for the Arkansas/Shreveport fellas.

Would not be the worst thing. Would mean moving up several places in the results.

Not necessarily volunteering for any of these....

Running the Rose
Jackalope Jam
Brazos Bend 50
Goodwater

those are all trail marathons/halves/10ks.

Texas Marathons

i think the woodlands marathon is supposed to be cool.

Arkansas

I could do that. What's the elevation gain? More than 10 ft and I'm out.

Getting back into the swing of things after just running once last week. Won't lie, felt good to take it easy.

I like the look of this race. I may enter this one regardless of how many TD guys we can get out there. Is this too far of a drive for your Arkansas guys? It's a similar distance from Little Rock as it is from NOLA/BR.

Miles 14-18 of the LR Marathon are rough.

The LR marathon was my first. I crashed hard after those hills.

Personally, the Woodlands would be the most likely for me. My wife’s Mom and Step Dad live there, so I can pacakage it up with a trip to visit them, etc. Gotta improvise with our infant son. Not sure I can swing darting off to Little Rock for the weekend, although not out of the question.

As an aside, with my job it’s virtually impossible to plan this far out, so anything I lay down will be tentative. The big oil major I work for doesn’t tend to care too much about my running plans, believe it or not.
