I'll be running The Woodlands Half if all is well with the knee (no reason it shouldn't be good by then)

Ran 10 on Sunday. Very cold and windy but ran it averaging 8:30 pace so was pleased. Even more pleased that I am not very sore today, and yesterday I was not too wiped out. 5k race on Saturday so going to take it easy this week with probably 5 tomorrow and 4-5 on Thursday.

It has been a long time since I used Strava. I would join your group but I cannot find the TD.Com group when I search under that name.

Good run yeaterday. Sounds like it went well.

Just go to explore on the app and search clubs. I had to hit explore twice to get there. It won’t show up if you are searching people only.

Now I just have to remember everything else about using Strava, LOL.

Ran MS Gulf Coast Full Marathon yesterday. My first full, finished in 3:31:40. Definitely better than I expected. My assumption was a 3:35-3:45 with 3:35 being my stretch goal. Felt great, think I would have broken 3:30 if not for the damn bridge into the headwind at mile 25! Sorrrrrre today though

Upvote for tbtf.

Found out that the guy that came in first Saturday got me by 4 minutes but he’s a college runner so I don’t feel that bad.

I wanna do a race with you guys but I can’t commit quite yet because I don’t know where I’ll be living in the near future.

Up for 2 jobs right now and am waiting on the best offer.

Recovery week for BRM; that trail shite beat me down.

Love the cold weather! Ran 5 miles at 8 min pace. Have not run a 5 mile training run that fast in 2 years. Going to have to force myself to ease up the rest of this week.

I invoked the "no running if the temp is below my age" rule this morning. Gonna have to make up for it tomorrow.

MRI on the knee last night to confirm it wasn't a stress fracture. Most likely just IT band inflammation. Waiting for my muscle relaxers and anti inflammatory meds to come through. Hoping to be running again by next week . Last time I had a little tendonitis, anti inflammatory meds cleared it up with a quickness, so hoping the same happens here. Will continue to go to PT and the Chiro to fix the tight hip muscles that are causing the issue in the first place.

Ha! If I had that rule I would not be able to run much of the winter!

What’s your protocol when dealing with injuries, as far as diagnosis/treatment? Over the years I’ve gone Ortho > PT > Chiro

Sometimes I feel like the Ortho is a waste of time (if no surgery needed) and I am not totally sold on a Chiro.

I guess I need to find a sort of Sports Specialist in town for future dealings?

If it feels like something that's just nagging me, I'll go straight to my chiro. It's basically him and a PT in that office and he really just does PT work to loosen muscles and stuff. I see if that works and it has in the past.

With the knee this time, he's said to try running again this weekend. When it still hurt just as bad, I realized I needed to get with the Ortho. I knew I couldn't train through it on that path and I can't take multiple weeks off and still make a January 20th Marathon. Good thing is, both the Ortho and the Chrio/PT are sports specialists. You walk in and it's just pictures of cyclist, runners, ironmen, etc. that go to see them. So they know the deal.

Right on, sounds like the ideal setup. Anybody in the BR area see a Specialist and can recommend? No need now, but just curious.

Tried the Yasso method for 800s today, much better workout than going all out. Felt very fresh at the end. Good workout.

Mine too!

I didn’t tell my wife I applied though. She’s going to be pissed.

What is the process for Chicago? Just submit an application? Provide any race results?
