What is everyone’s go-to approach for bouncing back from a crummy nutrition day or weekend? Just get back into the weekly swing or do you over correct somehow?

Honestly, “bounce back days” and “correcting” cheat days are just forms of disordered eating. Either have better will power to avoid unnecessary cheat meals or just move on as normal accepting that you enjoyed unhealthy food for a short period of time.

This is what I’ve tried shifting to. I did a 20 hour fast after Labor Day and I have to say it damn near killer me. I felt like I was having an out of body experience or got leveled by the flu. Does it get easier with time?

From just a day or weekend?
Nothing. Carry on like normal.
You’ll poop out most of the bad stuff.
It takes much longer than a day or weekend to add fat pounds, not just water weight retained from high sugars and fats.

Just back to normal...don't let one bad day turn into two, or a weekend turn into a weeks' worth of binging. In the big picture, think about the fact that it takes roughly a 3500 kCal excess for a 1 lb body mass gain, so unless you really go HAM on the eating, hard to do to much damage in a short period.

I try to not make 2 “bad decisions” in a row. I know some may have an issue with framing it like that. Bad decisions being overindulge in a meal or skip a workout. So if I ate a big dessert the night before I can’t skip a workout the next day or eat two “bad” meals in a row. Skipping workouts is rarely an issue for me but wanting to keep the sugar rush going can be

This is a great rule of thumb for fitness, and really a lot of areas of life that require discipline. Thanks for sharing. I’ve heard the phrase “If you miss one day, don’t miss two” but your phrasing is a little stricter and directly applicable to health and nutrition. I like it.
