Thats a unit of measurement mix-up - 9.1 isn't terrible. It is 91 free T
Posted on 8/22/25 at 3:11 pm to TigerTatorTots
Wouldn’t it take 910 pg/ml to = 9.1 NG/ml?
The report says 9.1 pg/ml for free T. Total T was measured in NG/ml

Ehh that low number confused me at first - I'll let the experts here chime in
ETA: That number can't be right - I was 96 pg/ml and that was showing up at 18th percentile. a 9 pg/ml would be damn near dead

I’m 52 and my total testosterone came in at 695 and my free testosterone came in at 12.5. Not sure what any of that means.

Is anyone’s hematocrit and MCV on the higher end while on TRT? Are there ways to reduce it?

Enclomephine That’s also the answer for many in this thread. You’re welcome
What brand do you recommend?

The only brand I can find around is Integrity Research. Have had awesome success with it.

My hematocrit was 57 a couple months ago when I did my 3 month blood work with Rejuvime. Supposed to go donate at some point but I can't stand needles and am putting it off as long as I can. Also had my yearly physical last month and my GP saw the number and wasn't overly concerned. Just said I was probably dehydrated when I did my blood work.

What I’m wondering as well. I’m borderline high and it was a “fasting” blood draw in the morning, so had not had much to drink in 12 hours. Is that enough to throw things off?

I read this can lower iron as well. Do you compensate for this when donating?

I give every 8 weeks - it's not hard to replenish the iron but it takes a day or two. Great excuse to eat a bunch of beef. Lots of water, all the steak.

Where do you go to do this?

My hematocrit the last four years:
2022 43
2023 45
2024 44
2025 43 (June)
2025 50 (August)
My 43 number this year was at my wellness with regular doctor. My 50 number was two months later at TRT clinic (before I even started injections). I found it odd the number was much higher when I averaged low/mid 40s every year pior.
I went ahead and donated at LifeShare just in case but most seem to think the 50 was due to dehydration or the fact that it took the nurse about 3 minutes to hit the vein with that band on my arm. Apparently that causes red blood cell production.
I go back October 8. LifeShare told me I can't donate again until early November (approx 56 days later).

I’m at 51. There’s a blood center firm the road. What other considerations do I need to take into account punt when donating? Iron supplements, etc?

Eat a good meal and stay hydrated. Also, just do a normal blood donation and not a double or plasma.

New to the thread. I'm 57 and came back in the low 400's. Starting injections this week. Also estrogen blocker. Tell me about the estrogen blocker.

Guys y’all are over complicating this and treating lab values that are WNL. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a hct of 51 and it’s a normal response to TRT. Donate if you want to help others but it’s not a necessity and just know that you would likely rebound even higher afterwards.
140-200mg TestC a week split into 2 doses. Start low and check labs to see how you feel and respond. Increase 20mg or so and repeat labs in a couple of months need be.
99% of people do not need an AI on TRT doses. Only treat E2 if you develop symptoms like super sensitive nipples, bloating from water retention, extreme irritability. E2 is super important in men just as it is for women. It improves mood, sex drive, cardio & neuro protective, and joint health.
In my 3 years, the worst, and I mean the fricking worst I ever felt, was when my provider prescribed arimidex and bottomed out my E2.

They’ll likely write you a script for anastrazole but you’ll have to track how you feel and watch out for bloating and swollen ankles along with sensitive nipples. Everyone is different and I take a 1/4 of the anastrazole weekly but I take a triple dose of DIM+ daily.
