She was in a wedding, and had heels on pretty much all day and night. The last 2 days she can barely walk. She is going to a clinic today because we leave for thanksgiving Wed. Fully intend on seeing primary care doc or chiro.

Anyone or anyone’s wife had this issue? Did you end up going chiropractor route or physical therapy?

TIA

Probably due to inactive muscles. It'll go away.

Did you try PIIH...ah wait this isn't the OT. Dang.

Is it lower back pain? I did a 'walk a mile in her shoes' fundraiser once a few years back. As the title implies, we walked ~a mile in ridiculous stilettos. I had intense lower back pain for like two days afterwards.

A couple extra ibuprofen and rolling it out for a while helped. Went away on it's own so didn't go see anyone. I'd recommend chiropractor first if she wants to get it checked. Might be a slipped disc, or just general inflammation. A lot of irregular stress on the spine will piss it off in lots of different ways.

Heels can cause this problem. Rather than spending money, basic weight work and minimizing time in heels works better.

All the heels do is shift the body's walking pattern into something unnatural. That produces soreness from the compensation.

yes. What's the issue?

Update- she got some meds from her physician and the issue is inflammation leading to pressure on her sciatic nerve.

She described the pain as 8/10. Hopefully the medicine and stretches help. Thanks for the responses.

my wife runs and works out with weights 4-5 times a week. She is a machine.

She just wore giant 4 inch heels for the better part of 10 hours, straight. Never again.

thanks Mike. You were right in that it was inflammation. Thankfully not a slipped disc, he doesn't think.

rub her calves for her, then have her lay on her back and stretch her hamstrings. Should help

Fair enough. Heels are rough on the back.

My first thought was sciatica.

Anti inflammatory will work for now but look up stretches to help with sciatica down the road.

My wife had it for a long time and didn’t want to get on meds regularly so she has a set of stretches she does regularly to keep it away.

High heels are only good for looks.
Terrible on the feet and legs.

They’ll probably give her some flexeril and slap a heating patch on her lower back while home.

Should go away after that
