'Minor' Meniscus tear (knee)?

I'm 40 and never had any knee issues. While playing basketball over the weekend, I felt a sharp pain in my knee but then was able to keep playing and didn't feel it again.
Two days later, I was just shooting solo and it felt fine for about 30 minutes. Then, I felt it again for a split second. Kept shooting for another 20 minutes with no issues.
There hasn't been any swelling or discomfort since, other than just a slight 'weirdness' every once in awhile if I step a certain way.
Does this sound like a minor meniscus tear? If so, what is the best way to treat it?

Sounds like the feelings of age. There could be some underlying reason so feel free to see a doctor, but I’ve learned that my body just doesn’t work the way it did when it was 18 and some things just feel weird without necessarily being an injury.
In my experience, it’s not much to worry about if there’s no swelling or discoloration.

I'll bet my house if you go to a DO they will diagnose you with Patello Femoral Tracking Syndrome. They will send you home with exercises to strengthen your abductors and stretch your IT band.

Is it catching? Usually the sign of meniscus tear.
It still could be a minor tear and the flipping of the torn part may be causing the pain. Only definitive test is an MRI.

Just finished an upper body weight workout. While walking around between sets, it would have a very slight feeling that is probably the ‘catching’ you mention (but only felt it a couple of times).
No issues with stretching or walking up stairs.

My meniscus shredding came on the snowboard terrain park, on skis @ 38. When you tear your meniscus there will be fluid leaking. Your nerves will notice this fluid build up at some point. Mine took -0.3 seconds, but mileage may vary. Anti inflammatories for you at this point.

I have this exact thing. No idea what it is. I am using the Sam Malone technique on it.

This.I have a similar problem, and haven't been squatting/deadlifting heavy like I usually do because of it.I occasionally feel pain, especially when using stairs and it gets really sore after a gym day.I recently bought some kinesiology tape to put around my knee and it seems to help with knee tracking.
Btw, I haven't gotten it checked by a Dr yet,but i'm pretty sure this what I am dealing with... from watching Physical Therapists on YouTube. It's also called "runners knee" and it's an overuse injury seems to be problem with runners, jumpers and crossfitters. Icing, strengthening the quads, and massaging tight hamstrings might help getting it back to normal

My meniscus tear was lateral and felt like a kings being stuck in my knee and twisted. It was at the joking — kind of where there is a dimple between your knee and shin (best way I can describe the area). Finally had to clean it out as daily activity was painful. And no I’m not a fatty.
