Idk about the female part but pretty spot on for my thoughts at the gym.

I hope they do a video for the a-hole at my gym that took 22 minutes to do three sets of bench, max of 155, with his wrist wraps, at the only normal bench.

When I’m carrying a heavy weight for distance (suitcase/farmers/sandbag) I think to myself, “What if that’s your child? You wouldn’t drop your child would you?” I have yet to lose my grip when I do that.

Depending on which of my kids I think about, I may drop it quicker..

The delusions we entertain to push through an interval or set are captured perfectly by this video lol

yup, and it's totally worth it when you hit that rep that rips off the mask of humanity and you feel feral AF for a minute or two.

I can't identify with anything in this short video, not exactly. This surprises me because I think I'm a highly insecure, self-loathing, pity-monster, but this kind of reflection about my identity/gender doesn't enter into my training.

Now, with my nutrition/diet/eating? Closer, but still not me. I guess I'll just have to remind myself that this vid is for laughs, so it's deliberately narrow minded for humorous purposes. I'm sure it's relatable for many people, but if you put yourself under this kind of pressure when you train, that's on you. I think it's counterproductive. Just do the damn thing, enjoy the time to not internalize, don't think about shite, just load the damn bar correctly and blast off.

I must be weird because I don't think about anything while lifting, unless I'm using RPE. Now, with cardio, it's a steady stream of how much this sucks and maybe being fat isn't so bad

This is when I'm running up through about mile 3.5 these days. Then endorphin release and things are all better for a while.

That's when you say, "hey man, cool if I work in?" If he says no, then ask how many more sets do you have...how much longer? Usually they get the hint that you're not planning on waiting long.

I never hesitate to ask and never hesitate to let someone work in with me. Ironically, most of the time when I say they can work in, they refuse.

I turn off my ability to process or generate language when the earbuds go in.

I could have worked in if necessary 20 years ago, but now everybody sits around on IG. I watch the clock, and it's 90-120 seconds between sets. I actually saw a chick watching videos while using a machine today. I like going lizard brain for a reason; I don't even use my watch for timing, I need a dumb clock on the wall so I don't have to think.

I don’t think I’ve ever had those thoughts go through my head outside of the occasional “you can do this” on a tough set.

Honestly, I just kind of get locked into the music I’m listening to and let it help me push through.

For me it's more on runs. When it's hot and I'm dying and I want to stop and walk, I conjure up the silly thoughts about what if your kids are in trouble, you just gonna take your damn time? Get over it. Also, recalling that my grandmother once fell, broke her hip, and it took her 45 minutes to crawl to the phone. It works most of the time, I just hope to have my challenging moments near the end vs. middle
