I also use the Felix Gray glasses. I find they definitely help with computer glare eye strain (I also stare at a computer screen for the majority of the time I'm at work). I do use them about 2 hours before bed, but I'm not sure if they help or not. I'm a side sleeper, but my wife tells me I flop around like a whale breaching the surface of the water switching side to side. I might try out that pillow/sheets - thanks for the reply!

A cold shower will shock the central nervous system and make you more alert/increase hr, a hot shower will do the opposite. I try and take a hot shower, sleep on clean sheets, and take Benadryl when I feel I need a solid 6-8 hours and know I have to be up early.

You know, the colonial era people like Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson would go to sleep early....9pm.....sleep til midnight....wake up and stay awake for a few hours....then sleep again from 4 til 7....I don't get it but I do wake up in the middle of the night and can't sleep til 4am..........

I average 20-30m on an 8hr night. A GOOD night is 45m.

+1 for the chili pad. my sleep has gotten much deeper and consistent since i got mine. it worked so well, i bought another for a bed at my parents house where i spend a night or two a week when traveling for work. expensive, yes, but well worth it. only issue is noise. i sleep with ear plugs so not a huge deal

Sold! I’ll be buying an Ooler as soon as my new mattress comes in. It’s a step up from the Chili Pad, with some new features, etc made by the same company.

Does anyone recommend anything for noise? I recently had a pack of undesirables move into the apartment above me and I cant sleep for shite out of fear of one of them falling through the ceiling. Right now I'm just using the cheap foam ear plugs but they arent the most comfortable and dont block out much noise

I can't sleep without a fan running for white noise.

I've been tracking my sleep for about the past 4 months using a Biostrap. My avg. total sleep time is just under 7 hrs per night, and my avg. deep sleep time is just under 2 hrs per night.
Yeah, unless something is hooked up to your head and is tracking EEG, these numbers are all bullshite. Been in sleep for 20 years. I've actually done studies with these types of watches/straps on while simultaneously doing a legit sleep study. Trust me...they're inaccurate.

How dark is your room? Even the light from your router, alarm clock, or TV can affect your sleep greatly. I've been back on nights for the last 8 months. I was having a terrible time sleeping more than 5 hours a day, even wearing CPAP. Bought a little cheap sleep mask/eye cover as a joke. Immediately slept 10.5 hours the next day without waking up once. I'm back to having to use an alarm daily because otherwise I will sleep double digit hours. Try getting your room pitch black, or honestly try out a mask. It makes a world of difference.
