Is Yoga a good exercise?

I need to continue to improve my flexibility beyond my pre and post lift stretches. Would doing yoga once per week be a good way to work on that? Any good programs out there? I’d rather do it at home. Can’t afford an instructor or class.

Hell yes! Just look up Adrienne yoga. She has a ton of free videos on Youtube. I feel my best when doing yoga 2+Xs per week.

Yes. Just like all exercises, yoga can be easy or very difficult, depending on the level you choose to attempt
Me and the wife do yoga together at least 3-4x a week at home.
I view it as a required supplemental exercise for anyone that is active.

I did some yoga yesterday (I just put out a mat in the living room and stream something on the TV) for about 35 minutes... kicked my arse and I was pouring sweat.

It’s a great workout. If you’re looking more for flexibility look at like a “Yoga for Cyclists, Yoga for Runners, or Yoga for Swimmers” a they are more stretching based. However traditional yoga is a great core workout and if you’re into meditation like me it enhances your ability to breath under stressful situations greatly. Also, check “Eric Goodman Foundation Training” as an arse kicking 12 minute yoga-esque workout.

you'll sweat your butt off and be tired after.
Yoga with Adrienne is awesome. She was also in a Nic Cage movie.

Yes. You can do videos but first go to a class a few times so you know how its really supposed to be done. Get an instructor who will correct your poses and stretches during class.

The y is cheap and has tons of yoga classes, at least one per day.

Try Bikram yoga if you want your arse kicked. It has changed my life for the better.

Yoga is awesome, and humbling.

I’ve never been in better shape than the summer at LSU when I took the weight lifting class on tues/thurs and yoga on mon/wed/fri. The combination of the two workouts was perfect.
