Literally calls 70% of the stuff at the grocery store 'not food' and 'poison'. Very eye opening interview.

He’s not wrong. People think they are eating ‘healthy’ and they really aren’t because of all the hidden sugars, seed oils, emulsifiers, preservatives, artificial sweeteners etc.

For those without access to Spotify here's the podcast on YouTube:

Here's another You Tube video with Dr. Mark Hyman outlining the dangers of eating processed food.

He's right and when you look at alcohol as literally being poison it will completely change your outlook on it's role in living a healthy lifestyle. At least it did for me.

You have no idea how bad it is but I was born raised in Louisiana so I am fricked. Sugar Junkie

Adkins was right and my cousins the sugar barons knew it so they hired a Harvard Doctor to develop the bullshite low fat diet and get his buddies to attack Adkins. They are all now sugar daddy super rich.

Yet none of the studies back up any of this shite.

Some of Y’all worry about the dumbest things. About 75% of the country is atleast 25lbs overweight, has low muscle mass and can’t do a single chin up and y’all are worried about seed oils?? Feel like Allen iverson…seed oils? We talking about seed oils? Come on man!!

90% of the country can’t tell you what macros they should hit or how many calories they had for lunch and less than 10% of the country lifts weights atleast 2x per week

I promise seed oils, sugar and all the other BS yall claim is the problem isn’t. Y’all should stop listening to hacks on podcast and learn to be able to interpret studies and actually read the data. Or atleast listen to people like alan argon, Layne, etc

You are wrong. And Layne Norton is a god damn clown. The evidence in the dangers of sugar and seed oils is overwhelming. Lazy people deny this so they can convince themselves they are eating ‘healthy’ and living a ‘healthier’ lifestyle. It’s like the folks who try and justify that sucking back a ton of ‘diet’ or ‘zero’ sugar cokes is healthy. Its not. You do it because you have to justify your actions and inability to rid yourself of these things. You are addicted.

You pretty much nailed it. 777 is one of those guys you see in the gym with a giant gut who thinks they are healthy because they can bench a lot, never mind that they can’t run two miles ..: but don’t worry, he’ll tell you that any form of movement outside of heavy weight lifting is useless and that macro counting is the key to longevity.

For every Lane Norton there is a Ray Peat. Which PhD is smarter?

I honestly didn’t think that eating real food, avoid sugars/emulsifiers, and exercise would be this divisive.

The diet wars are a lot like religion. And many are prone to authoritarianism in this regard. Ray Peat's ideas are not prescriptive. He is anti-authoritarianism.

While he was one of the early voices warning people about PUFAs, he is definitely not anti-sugar.

Its insanity. These people are addicted to their precious fast foods and sodas and say and do anything to make you think it is 'ok'. Its like the morons who try and convince themselves Chick fil a is 'healthy'. The damn buns there have like 15 ingredients The 'chicken' is loaded with things like MSG, Sodium Aluminum Phosphate, Potassium Iodate, and Dimethylpolysiloxane all are linked to several health risks, and some are banned or heavily restricted in other countries. Its no surprise that the first world countries that ban these things have a much healthier populace than we do. Look at their rates of things like diabetes, obesity, heart disease, cancer compared to ours. Things like seed oils, preservatives, artificial sweeteners, artificial flavorings etc are not needed in food. They are put there for multiple reasons many of which are to make you want to crave it more.

The reason(s) elimination diets work so well (even without exercise) is they cut all the fake, artificial, stuff out that your body does not even know what to do with and process.

People who exercise will do literally anything to justify their eating habits/preferences. Look at the studies coming out of Europe on Sucralose. All these morons who drink diet cokes or 'zero' cokes are doing is trading diabetes for cancer/leukemia.

But muh seed oils aren't bad for you Pawlllll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol right on que again accusing me of shite you have clue of.

Again you say Norton is a clown but can’t refute shite he post. There are studies showing diet drinks in a diet phase leads to meore fat loss and overall better blood markers, have studies on canola oil too showing same thing

I’m saying you are demonizing the wrong things and living in the minors instead of focusing on the major things that need to change.

And I eat pretty much meat, eggs, rice, potatoes and veggies and protein shakes so again have no clue wtf you are talking about

Don't even get me started on this.

I can 'lose' weight eating 1 meal of Subway and one meal of McDonald's a day even without getting off my couch. These guys that just talk about 'calories' and ignore the quality of them are imbeciles. Even though I am 'losing' weight I am also spiking my blood sugar multiple times a day, ingesting a bunch of fake, artificial ingredients that my body really doesn't know what to do with and causing other health complications but I am losing weight!!!!!!!!

That logic is insane but we have people that subscribe to it and defend it to justify their shitty choices and behaviors and yes, addictions.

You've encouraged people on here to drink Coke Zero and have admitted you do it yourself

I don't care what you eat. Look to the recent studies on sucralose look to Europe and their populace compared to ours look to the massive spikes in America in Obesity, Diabetes, Heart Disease etc. since things like seed oils, processed foods, artificial sweetener/flavorings, preservatives were introduced to American diet. Its indisputable what has happened.

There is ZERO reason for any of the things I listed to be in foods. None. The healthiest and best way is to avoid them. Its really simple but people are addicted. Its sad. And yes Layne Norton and people like him are fricking idiots who are grifters to get 'likes' and 'clicks' on social media. That's it.

It's no different than your buddy Dante who for nearly 2 decades literally ruined people he trained with horrible PED and diet advice and 'extreme stretching' which caused all kinds of awful things to happen to people and now conveniently he is preaching how to 'reverse' all the bad shite he did to people

That's like me owning a McDonald's for 20 years then telling people "Hey, quit eating all this stuff and start eating real whole foods!" The damage has already been done. Some of you are like crack addicts to justify your behaviors. Stop eating things with seed oils, processed ingredients, artificial flavorings/sweeteners/preservatives etc.

DO NOT tell me that is unrealistic.
