re: How do you get up the motivation to make morning workouts?
My schedule doesnt allow me to go in the evenings but I was always a morning person anyways.

Get my preworkout in and knock it out. Helps gym is 24/7 as well. Done in 45min.

When I did go evenings it felt like such a chore. Going after a long day at work(job isnt really hard as am IT) plus a crowded gym annoyed me.

Even on weekends I like to be done by 10am.

I don't get the appeal of morning workouts and I workout 5 mornings a week at 3 AM. The only reason I do is because I use an apartment gym and it's crowded af in the evenings. With that said I don't know, just do it? How do you find the motivation to ever workout? You just do it.

3:00am? That’s not a morning workout, that’s the middle of the night.

What time do you go to sleep?

re: How do you get up the motivation to make morning workouts?
i run 6 days a week between 4:30-5:30 am. I used to run in the evenings, but felt sluggish. If something came up that night I'd also be in danger of missing my workout completely. Waking up early sucks, but sacrifices must be made.

re: How do you get up the motivation to make morning workouts?
I hit the gym M-F from 4:50 am -6:15 am. I used to go after the kids went to bed but I felt that I rushed getting them to bed and missed out on nighttime reading or hanging out with them.

I changed to the early routine and I will never go back. I had to make time for the gym and if I didn't go early then I wasn't going. It's not really that hard once you get the routine. Just like any other routine. Also, I felt that I was kicking arse during the day at work.

I tell people all the time that they're selling themselves short. You absolutely can get up and get the workout in early. People just make excuses. Married 2 kids.

Lately around 7-8. My schedule isn't ideal lol but I make it work. No kids helps.

Same here. I tried the 5am lifting heavy thing for about 3 months and I couldn’t stand it. I’m so much better as the day goes on, the later the better for me.

One of the best things I ever did was make Sunday my hardest workout day, 11am. It’s mine, no one can can take this time from me. I take around 2hrs and do a ton of warmup and cool down stuff, this is usually a squat focused session.

WTF? 3 AM. Yep, screw that. I get up at 4 AM which is still early and not much better but still. I take my pre-workout and I have to take a shower even though I am just gonna go get nasty and sweaty at the gym and take another shower. However, if I don't shower, I can't wake up. I have been doing this routine since my son was born in 1998 so it is a habit now. In the afternoons, I go train BJJ when I don't have family commitments or I am not injured. By 9 PM I am exhausted and in bed.

<---this guy would before Covid.

I'm, awake almost every morning at 4am. 1.5 - 2 hour workout in some form finishing before 7am(unless I'm doing a long bike ride). Weights, plyometrics, running, swimming, cycling, mostly a combo of the above.

But my motivation? Early morning is the only time I can get it in and I'm done for the day by 7am. Plus, I love how peaceful the world seems at 4:30am.

I don't. If I could only work out in the morning it wouldn't get done.

My wife and 3 kids are usually sleeping in the am so it’s just me in my garage. Afternoon workouts have a lot of interruptions and with 3 kids and their extracurriculars, afternoon workouts are tough to get in most days.

I have an alarm set on my phone for 4 AM that says "Pussy".

It's not calling me a pussy, just reminding me why I'm working out in the first place.

re: How do you get up the motivation to make morning workouts?
I run in the mornings now and don’t lift anymore bc of 5 herniated discs, but getting up at 4:30 and lifting from 5:00-6:00 every morning was my routine for 15 years.
I would put 2 cups on my night stand between myself and my phone alarm. One cup had pre-workout powder, the other water. I’d force myself to shotgun the pre-workout before attempting to hit snooze on my alarm. At that point hitting snooze would be pointless. I missed maybe 3 5am workouts in 15 years.
