I agree about the wall sits being the easiest aspect. First time in a while having some heavy weights for squats. Always looking forward for tomorrow. Going to have to swap up the SS on the first 2 workouts bc I only have one straight bar.

W2D3 done. I felt the squats were easy until that last set of 5. Wall sits burned at the end but didn’t feel the 2 super sets were bad. Good sweat though

W2D2 done. Deadlifts got heavy today. I figured out why this program seems tougher: 3 of the 4 days involve a lot of back work lol. I have a love-hate thing going with snatch grip deads also.

W2D4 done

Bench was high volume, but weight felt a little light. With the exception of the Zottman curls, I either kept the same weight as planned or went up. Zottman I had to drop down for the last 3 sets. Those start to catch fire around rep 11-12. Overall very solid day.

Pump Friday was kind of lame today.

I'm doing a superset arm workout tomorrow morning before heading to BR for some 7u baseball.

BPF done for week 2. Bench definitely felt easy. Back is pretty tired from all the back work in this program. Felt form go to shite on the 1 arm rows.

Knocked out w2d3 in about an hour. I did an amrap for the last set of 77% squats and managed 10x265, which is a PR for reps at that weight. I did db RDLs (sets of 10-12) rather than setting up the barbell out of the rack for that one exercise; that superset still felt really good. The wall sits were kinda lame; not sure who the target audience was for that shite.

Ate half a shrimp ring and going for a long walk: will sear an ahi tuna steak for supper later.

I think I’m going to either add 5% to every bench set tomorrow or else just do 5x10 at a decent weight.

I did W2D3 this morning too. Finished just under an hour, which was the shortest for PS2 so far.

I’m going to try and knock out W2D4 tomorrow morning before a busy Mother’s day

Finished w2d4 this afternoon:

I just kept adding 10 lbs to bench and did more sets til I couldn’t do 11. Ended up at 205x10 with a massive chest pump (I think I was supposed to have a 175 top set lol). I used my ezcurl bar with 45s on it for the rows. I was wiped after that and shoulders couldn’t handle my normal weight on db press so I did 8-10 reps instead. I think just throwing more/heavier sets at the bench is the way to go for Fridays.

The bench was light today, but I stuck to the plan. I didn’t want any soreness for Big Bench Monday.

I did miss the cardio. Wife was yelling at me to get ready for church. I’m going to make those up this week. I like those Z curls

I was a little ahead, I finished up the series this weekend. I enjoyed it, felt like I gained some strength over the 4 week period.

My biggest critique is that I think shrugs were wayyy overused. Almost like the guy couldn't figure out one more exercise to finish a workout, so frick it lets add some mroe shrugs. Usually on Thursday I would sub curls for shrugs. Seems like there was plenty of back work all week and only biceps on 2 days.

Definitely don't do Jacked Up Joker then. They are the cardio portion EVERY day. Starts W1D1 at 4x25 and ends W4D5 with 4x50.

W3D1 done

Didn't want to go to the gym today, but went anyway and got it all done. Failed 1 set of OHP at 6/8.

Plan on skipping tomorrow and just doing something easy (walking, biking, etc). Haven't missed a lift day in over 2 weeks (while doubling up Oak Tree on Sa/Su) and running a decent caloric deficit; definitely feeling fatigued and need an easy day.

I felt like PS 2 was a little heavy on back work, light on arms and shoulders compared to PS 1, but I liked the volume and higher %s of the big lifts. I really liked Pool Season 1 tho (except for the last day I’d sub w1d4 for it when I run PS1 again).

I was expecting him to hit shoulders and traps hard in these programs which was fine by me. I really liked the supersets with high rep back/lat work with band pull aparts this month.

I’m missing face-pulls, rfess, incline db press, close grip bench, hammer curls and farmer walks though; not sure what we are running June but I hope it has some of those things :)

I just started actual lifting in January and enjoying the hell out of it. I'm along for the ride on whatever yall choose. I'll just be a week late in starting June (vacation 5/27 - 6/4 and no access to a gym).

I liked Jacked Up Joker a lot and will probably do it again at some point. Problem is it doesn't have any deadlifts (only 2 days out of 20 even have RDLs).

Yes, running W1D4 with a little more weight would be a perfect way to end it.
