Been running 90% TM but gonna bump it up to 95%

Same! I hit 12 reps at 80% (using 90%TM) on W3D1. Bumped it up to 95%TM today (W3D4) on bench and the final 10 reps at 65% felt right.

What a whirlwind of a day.

We thought we taking her home and being discharged earlier this afternoon, when the nurse walks in and says her bilirubin ab came back elevated. So they decided to put her on the blue light for the day. She’s been under all day since noon. The hardest part is not being able to do a damned thing when she cries.

I got my recliner situated right in front of her little bed with lights giving her a nice tan. She’s a fighter for sure.

Congratulations Jose!!

W3D3 done. I didn’t like the squats starting out kind of heavy. My old knees need more of a warm up. But not bad after

Ready for the burn tomorrow

thats why i always start with just the bar and add weight slowly in 2 or 3 sets to get to first working set, even if its 60% for first set.

Also, add in some vertical or long jumps to your warmup. It really helps my knees

not just knees, helps everythign

btw if one gets stuck on squats and deads....sure fire way to get them moving again is to start incorporating jumps and working them progressively. Louie and the Russian guys found 40-50 jumps per week works real well. Wendler recommends 10-15 throws or jumps before each session.

What sort of jumps? Could I just spend 5-10 minutes on the basketball court jumping and hitting the backboard?

sure so long as you keep each one at full rest and try and beat each jump. but broad jumps for distance, vertical jump for height, box jumps etc. keep is progressively drtiving them up.

Here is the westside video in jumps LINK

I don’t know if it’s smart or not, but we have been starting with empty bar and going up in weight every set with bb Bulgarians (5 reps per leg) going slow and deep. By the time we get to a plate it feels like real weight and we are ready to back squat.

I’m sorry, I’m not doing any of the sort unless AA personally writes it down

Got about halfway through D4 today and just was not feeling it. One of those days where I couldn’t stay focused/didn’t want to be at the gym. Gonna finish up tomorrow and work a little accessory/cardio

My daughter just turned 6. She was a premie and spent 6 weeks in the NICU.

She was too little for an IV so they used a pic line that went up her leg. It floated up and started pumping fluids in to her chest cavity. She suffered a collapsed lung and it was pushing against her heart. We came close to losing her, but she made a full recovery. Girls are tough!

Funny thing, though, even as a premie she was a big baby. She is still tall, skinny, and long legged. She's also a daddy's girl and she goes out in the garage to lift with me just about every night. She gets a few kettlebell swings and squats in before she plays with sidewalk chalk or her bubble machine.

W3D4 knocked out. Curls to overheads and barbell rows were easily the hardest superset. Those were brutal.

We had to come back to the hospital this morning. My little girls bilirubin won’t go down. It’s jumped up again this morning. We took her on a 7am walk and got the call on the walk.

It’s so hard watching her just lay under these lights and nothing I can do as her to help her.
