Any suggestions? Wearing compression sock which isn’t doing much. Been doing some stretches but right now it’s so painful after yesterday’s run I can barely do those. Bought an ice sock online to try that for the inflammation

I had a brief experience with it. I got rid of it by rolling a tennis ball and a frozen water bottle under my foot.

Had it years ago and it was a bitch. Bought gel inserts that go under the heel and wore those inside my work shoes. It eventually went away.

I had it bad and cured it by getting a very good pair of Cross Training type shoes and started jumping rope.

I did all the rolling with tennis balls and water bottles and none of that worked. My Brother in law cured his with jump rope so I started doing 250-500 a day and it healed after a few months. I can now run distance and sprints again. Before the jump rope I couldn't do that at all

Had it bad for a few years, but never thought of jumping rope. May need to incorporate that as a preventative measure.

Dealing with it now and it sucks. I’ve also been stretching, gotten inserts, used the ice bottle, and even a night splint. I’d say it has improved but still not totally gone after 3 months. I may also try jumping rope.

I've been dealing with it for years and it sucks. Ice and stretching helps but I've yet to find anything that gets rid of it completely. I had injections done a month ago and it didn't provide any relief.

Had injections twice over the past three months. Doc taped up my feet which is supposed to provide more support than any shoe or insert. Had to wear a 'shower bag' to keep the tape on for a week each time. I switched from dress shoes to tennis shoes and bought an insert from the Good Feet Store (not recommended -- too expensive and can get something similar online or from a doctor). I do not walk without some kind of support on my feet. I wear night splints periodically.

While my feet are not as sore as they were, they are still sore.

It sucks.

Ditto, do not waste your money at The Good Feet store.

plantar

I gave a patient a direct steroid injection for it and she said that her pain/discomfort remained over 90% improved when I talked to her almost 12 months later. She had been dealing with it for around 10 years prior to the injection.

I did the stretching and rolling techniques and eventually it went away. Every year or two my plantar fasciitis returns and I get rid of it this way fairly quickly.

Same, also got cheap inserts from podiatrist I could put in most of my shoes. Got a foot rocker for stretching (those awesome btw) and when it got bad wore a night splint.

I also altered my exercise. Stopped trying to jog (I hated it anyways). Stopped high impact exercises with lots of jumping around. Started biking more, etc.

I think altering my exercises is what finally made it go away. It only flares up if I do a crazy hike and stretches usually fixes it.

If you wear Nike, stop. Switch over to asics, brooks, or Saucony. I had it about 15 years ago. Doc gave me a boot to sleep in and it improved my situation but I didn't get it to go away until I switched over to a better shoe. Consider asking your doc for a steroid dose pack to calm it down and switch shoes.

And if your arse can't take a bicycle seat then switch to rowing. I can't jog or ride a bike anymore so now I'm a rower. Do what you can.

Just got over my 2 month bout with it. Painful as all hell getting out of bed in the morning and trying to walk. I did a lot of stretching exercises. Compression socks did nothing for me.

A friend of mine is using an LED device I made for him with good success in helping his PF.

Had it off and on a few times in either foot mainly from being old and trying too much sports and wearing “office shoes” at work with no support. Corticosteroid injection to the plantar fascia and wearing hiking/athletic shoes with added arch support, got rid of it for good. And, I had a great doctor. However, that shot is not for pussies.

Curious, has anyone had dry needling done? Have heard mixed reviews about it. Considering that as the next step before going on the cortisone injection.

Cortisone injection can clear that up.

It’s tough to needle PF and would be very painful.
