What's y'all's favorite way to get quad strength? I'm back and hip dominate in my squats. I was thinking about adding in barbell lunges.

I have a hard time distinguishing what usually works out what. But I do a lot of goblet squats and lunges for isolation.

Typically leg day 1: Squats, Lunges, Straight Leg Deadlifts
And Leg day 2 would be: Deadlifts, Goblet Squats, Lateral Lunges

Something like that. Open to suggestions.

I can't seem to do them right. I want to lean forward because of the low bar squatting. I feel like I'm going to fall.

For strength it would be front squats. For size it would be walking lunges and Vince gironda style sissy squat.

Front squats

Great quad exercise. However, regular back squats are my favorite. Also, heavy leg presses and lunges round out my quad day.

I separate deads and quad day by at least 3 days and generally do deads with hams.

Try these split squats before you squat next time. Your squats will become very quad dominant.

Squat high bar, go ATG, stance a little narrower, feet pointed out, try to plie. Sissy squat does stretches the squat out pretty good. Thats all I got now. lol

If you have trouble staying upright during front squats or dropping the bar, try using straps

Get some lifters

Then make sure you have the bar placed properly. It should be able to rest on your collar and delts with out the use of any hands. Once you have that down, cross your arms across your chest and hold the bar with your hands

Or try landmine front squats.
