A home gym makes working out before or after incredibly easy. Take $1k and get a squat rack, bench, and olympic weight set. One of the best investments I've ever made.

After work in the afternoon.

i am on the totally opposite side of this. Zero chance i could work out at home and get a good one in. Too many distractions.

It makes working out before much easier. Easily adds another 20 minutes to training that would be wasted getting to the gym and that's not counting the time I spend having to chat with all the meatheads that I lift with or know that are also in there hitting it before work. Plus, I can shower on my turf.
I will typically do everything but quads (squats/leg press) and deads at the house unless I just feel like going to the gym.

I went right before lunch. I'm resting right now due to a stress fracture clavicle. Sucks because I feel like a fat sob right now.

Before. I have more energy during the day when I go first thing in the morning. AND if I wait until after work I will be tired and most likely not go, so I’ve just gotten in the habit of going before.

how is finding time before work any different than after work?
If you work early enough it's only feasible if the gym is 24 hours. It was impossible for me to go before work on my last job assignment.
Now I just go after work still since we get out at 3:30

before i get up at 345 in order to make it work..i dont have enough enery to make it after work usually around 430-5 which to me too feels late
plus i like to get it done and over with instead of waiting til after work..

It's easier for me to get my workout in after I get out of work.

Depending on what time I have to be at the hospital, I like to go before work. But if I have to go in super early, I'll wait till after.
I much prefer the 5:30am workouts though. Feels so much better walking into work already have exercised.

Not even close to a morning person, but before work is ideal. Too many things can go sideways during the course of the day and cause unanticipated conflicts (sometime excuses) preventing the workout. Knock it out, eat a good breakfast, feel awesome all day. Plus there is no traffic and only a few people in gym.

Must mean increase the intensity? I have never successfully worked out first thing or when alternating days. Having a solid routine where I'm not comfortable with change keeps me from taking the second to consider backing out each day. I always workout before showering, dinner, then going to bed. It wears me out.

Also, having to go to the gym for workouts just adds another step to the process not worth having for me

Before. Up at 05:00, on bike at 05:30-40, bike 1.5-1.75 hours, shower at work.

I walk four miles in the morning from 4:30 to 5:45. I walk two miles on my lunch. If everything else permits I will walk after work for another 2-3 miles.
I may cut the morning short a mile and start at 4 to open up the 5-6 hour for a circuit work out of band rows, push ups, pull ups and squats.

I work in DC in a building that has a gym, so I leave early to beat the traffic (5:30 AM), work out and shower at work before getting to my desk for 7:30 AM. When I work from home I try to do the same thing.

Right now I'm doing it before work in the morning. Working 6 10's is making it easy. When I get back on shift it changes with the work schedule.

Since I have to be at work for 7am, I've been going after.

The only time I have to workout is 5am. It's hard because if I don't get enough sleep than I don't get a good workout, but I also have 2 young kids so sleep can be hard to come by.
