Just teasing you. As always, peace and love to heavy lifting friends.

Heavy day, mixed results.

Added 5 more pounds to squat 5 RM, smoked it. Felt great.

Added 5 pounds on bench, would have been an all time 5 rep PR. Barely missed the 5th rep. Waited 30 seconds, did a 5th. Looking for 5 unbroken next week.

I'd missed 445x3 on DL last week as I get back into heavy deads. Hit it this week and felt like I even had a bit in the tank.

Some backoff work with stepups for quads (3x8) and light farmers walks (4x160 per hand). Bloodflow restriction grip work and done.

Power Cleans 155x3; 175x3; 195x3
Squats 330 2x5; AMRAPx1 (9)
OHP 150 2x5; AMRAPx1 (7)
Wide Lat Pulls 3x10
Skull Crushers 3x10
Preacher Curls 3x10
DB Bench 3x10

I’ve been inside my own head as of late. But I started to climb out today. Squats and OHP felt nice. Hopefully, I’ll be able to release my inner beast on Monday again. It’s been a while since I lifted pissed off.

I can do more. I’m just being gradual with it. I’m hoping over the next few weeks I’ll be cleaning 200+ on every set.

Volume day.

5x5 squats, added 5 more lb for a 5th straight week.
5x8 paused DB bench with 75 lb per hand. Didn't have my wife home at the beginning, so fewer options for upper.
5x1 or 2 deads with an isometric. Did 405 and that was exhausting. Wife was barely pulling to stop me and it felt like 600 was on there.

Tabata air bike to finish. Need to build some cardio.

Chest day yesterday at a way too crowded gym. Did not enjoy my time.

Flat BB Bench:
245 x 5 x 2 (Bleh)
225 x 9 (Bleh)

Close grip incline DB:
45 x 10 x 2
Wide grip incline DB:
65 x 10 x 2

45 lb weighted dips 10 x 3

Got frustrated killing time with pushups while waiting for equipment and left

Traveling today/tomorrow so gonna try to get in bi's and tri's at the hotel gym if the facilities are good enough. If not just some cardio and bodyweight stuff.

Kind of just piddle-farting around with my workouts right now, hoping to maintain. I'll be starting 5x3x1 program as soon as the doc clears me for squats and DL's (within the next month, fingers crossed)

Hope the doc clears you soon.

Just random strongman stuff.

4 supersets of farmers walk (200 per hand) and 200 lb sandbag to shoulder.
3 supersets of yoke waiters walk and 250 lb sandbag clean and hold.
Tabata intervals of sledgehammer swings.

I swear I’ve been in the gym working out the last two weeks.

Squat 200 3x8. 10 reps on last set
Bench 160 3x8. 10 reps on last set.

Went a month without lifting over Chrostmas so I’m easing back into it still. Definitely didn’t lose much over the holidays so ready to start smashing PRs soon

Recovery day.

2 rounds of 230x5 squat, GHD and reverse hyper.
3 rounds of weighted pushups, side laterals and board close grip press.

Tabata air bike and 2 sprints for the first time since I blew my calves. Did not sprint 100%, but it felt ok and no reaggravation.

Didn't feel great tonight.

Added another 5 LB on squats, 335x5. Depth was super inconsistent, so wasn't thrilled.
240x4 on bench. Almost had the 5th. Starting to hit a wall here.
455x2 deadlift. Barely missed the third. Gotta focus and get it next week.

Finished with some calves, farmers walks and bloodflow restriction arms.

I’m adding some warm up techniques that should help with heavy deads and squats. It’s from a guy who runs a intagram and Youtube account called Squat University.

Squat University-Youtube

I watched this last night. Looks easy enough.

Let us know how that goes.

For squats, I've gotten good results from integrating light KB swings and terminal knee extensions into my warmup. For both, it's just trying to get the quads and glutes firing explosively.

The depth issue last night was probably still adjustment to wraps. The wraps make my knees feel super locked in and my squat way more explosive. I'm just still struggling to feel depth in them and it gets more pronounced in later reps on semi-maximal work.
