We don't have that option. All members who had worked out in the prior 30 days were drafted onto 2 teams. Even if you said you weren't doing the open, you were put on a team.

The teams thing kind of ruined the open for my gym a couple years ago so we stopped doing it.

Reasons like you’re saying here, one of the coaches also wouldn’t let people rx unless they could get to a certain point.

In your case just do it rx in the first heat, get as many as you can, then do the scaled version later in the class for your own personal workout?

Well, just completed 19.2. That was brutal, but I was able to push myself and surpassed my expectations. I finished the first round in 7:56 and then got to a total of 256 reps.

I just finished. I must be coming down with something as I got gassed way faster than I thought. I did true scale and got 5 reps into the 135. While I am disappointed, I wanted no part of 155.

I only got 4 at 185, the 135 took way too long. Will try it again Monday. Definitely under estimated the impact of the cleans.

Did 5x5 on the t2b both rounds and 25-25 on the doubles

I’m terrible at DUs.

I never practice them, but I managed to knock out the 50 in less than 3 min. Linked several decent sized sets in my struggles so if I spend 5 min/day I can probably get proficient. I may work on my rhythm with them over the weekend so I can post a better score. Me and a buddy have a who is fitter comp this open. I have a big lead overall coming into 19.2, however, he’s much better at DUs than me.

105 Rx

TTB: 16-5-4 and I did mostly singles at 135 with a few TNGs.

Strength - heavy back squats for doubles 275,295,315 then hit a 335 singles and fricked up racking the weight and it fell on the floor

Conditioning

4 rounds 3min AMRAP with a 2 min rest in between rounds
5 deadlifts at 225lb
10 toes to bar
10 box jumps

Second workout

Assault bike sprints

15 rounds 15 seconds on 45 seconds rest

Idk I think I’m going to try and do a big set to start next time, I think I can safely say I’m not getting out of the 185s now so might as well pace the work out to get there with the most time possible

I got 2 at 185 my first attempt at 185 I deadlifted it and just let go. It felt like a damn house. I got 2 successfully attempted 2 more then failed 2. I couldn’t have done better.

Did 19.2 Friday evening and forgot to post my results. Went with the scaled version because, let’s face it,I’m nowhere close to going to the games and I didn’t want to be stuck trying to do 50 DU for the majority of the first 8 minutes so I did the full scale to get a better workout.

Got 262 reps and I was pretty happy with it. Probably could’ve gotten to the 4th rd if I took shorter breaks between squat cleans. The weight was no problem.

Honestly I feel like if you didn’t do Rx for 19.1 you kinda cheated yourself because that’s a workout everyone should’ve had the ability to do. 6 lbs on a WB isn’t that much of a difference. Not for me at least. But you could tell Castro wanted to seperate the competitors from the novices with 19.2. That’s why I chose to go scaled over continuing in Rx.

Also, I really like this thread and will start to post my workouts each day. I think it could be a pretty cool accountability thing for me and reading thru the thread makes me think y’all have got a good group that I would like to be apart of, if that’s cool with y’all.

Strength just some doubles one deadlifts nothing to heavy just up to 425

Conditioning

8 200 meter max effort sprints then 30 seconds rest. Had to do it on the treadmill bc it’s like 15 out

Then

10 min AMRAP
10 wall balls at 20lbs
20 kb swings at 53lbs

16 SA DB Lunge (Switch hands at 8 reps)

Did 65lb push press and 35lb lunges. 6+11
