If serious. Not even close.

Can anyone recommend a minimalist shoe for daily wear, strength training and (maybe) some running? I’ve been using Altra’s for this, except the running. I have a stable of running shoes. Definitely intrigued by this, just trying to make the best choice. Ready to order today. Whatcha got?

Edit: Leaning toward the Prios. Thoughts?

You can't bear Prio for the price. Yes I am cheap.

Right! Haha. Think Ima order some of the sandals also. Prios fit true to size?

There is evidence that minimalist shoes can help.

Here's the whole article on this, the linked one only opens Abstract for me. A very interesting study. I wear Vivos too, only with cotton rope laces that I buy separately (best for hiking, don't get untied). From what I know they're recommended for flat feet.

People always ask about planters' fasciitis on this board, and I always recommend they go to zero drop. Their Dr's always recommend more cushion, padding, etc. I had it bad and went the opposite of recommendations. Now I do dl's barefooted and most explosive movements. Haven't had issues since.

I just saw that Christopher McDougal author of "Born to Run" and his coach Eric Orton have endorsed Xero shoes. I have never read the book but apparently it's kind of a big deal.

I wish I could use minimilist shoes but I just don't have the proper leg strength anymore. I wore Vibram Fivefinger and Merrill Vapor gloves for a couple years. Even was running barefoot sometimes. But my calves could not handle it.

I’m all about minimalist, zero drop shoes working out and being around the house. I’ve tried to make an effort to be barefoot as much as possible.

But my 5’7 arse needs a lift with my work shoes.

So making your foot work makes it stronger? Who would have thought?

Pulled the trigger on a pair of Xero Prios, because every day I hate these fricking Merrell shoes a little more.

FWIW I've had durability issues with Xero Shoes. Treads just don't last long.

Merrel treads are better because they use vibram, but comfort has cratered on those things.

Vivos are great, but pricey.
