So sorry to hear that, hope things will get better. Too many blows in one day. Good luck out there.
I don't know, I don't see anything wrong in saving a buck here or there. If a free version or a basic plan does the job, why not? It comes down to priorities, both in business and life. Like, I want to invest in a good alarm system or pay an accountant to do my taxes, but I'll try to save elsewhere. If there was only one thing, then ok, how expensive can it be. But there are oh too many when you run a business.

Anyway, I drifted a bit. FileCenter might be one of the document storage solutions that could work for you but you can check a few more options here. The Standard plan is quite affordable and it would probably do the trick. Basic file management and scanning, and a PDF editor - $5 per month, $10-$15 for some more advanced features. You don't need to import (or export) the files as they remain in Windows. In my opinion, it is one of the easiest-to-use software and I know a couple of people with practically no technical background who had no problem figuring out how it works.

As for the QR codes, I recently created a digital business card using Beaconstac, and I know they have a free qr code generator with great reviews on G2. Haven't used it yet, but it does offer an unlimited number of scans, that much I can tell you. It should do the trick for your inventory tracking.

I wish you good luck, it can be tricky mixing business and family, even when you're trying to help.

Prague is an amazing city. Would always pick it over Paris for many reasons. But this Austria tour idea also sounds good. Salzburg and Graz are very charming and beautiful. I'm sure you'll have a great time no matter what you decide.
Start looking as soon as possible, I agree with the others here. No reason to worry, in my opinion.
Wordpress is definitely a place to go for creating a website. Integrates well, with tons of plugins. Also, look at these website personalization examples, this is something to consider, as it makes a difference. When it comes to email marketing, there's a whole science behind it apparently, as I realized when I started a course. So you can start by reading about it, some tips of this type, but I recommend taking a course if you want to do it yourself.

Nice work there. Keep us posted, I am curious to hear how the story ends.
True, many fakes. I was sort of interested, but for this reason, I gave up. Not interested enough to spend too much time researching it.
Getting more mixed opinions makes me think I've made the right decision to keep the paper version but share both. I really appreciate it, thank you all one more time. Now, I wouldn't completely dismiss digital ones, For example, the solution I picked offers the option of adding 20+ links to social media. So content writers or social media marketers can easily create an online portfolio and make the card their CV or embed the card's QR code on the actual CV. Or you can share it as an Apple Wallet pass, also handy. Let's see how it goes, but I'm cautiously optimistic.
Since you're asking primarily about an efficient scanner, may I suggest the Canon P-215II model, we got one at the office, it's portable and cool-looking. I think you can find it for around $250. Not sure what your budget is, though, but I'd say that's a fair price for a reliable scanner. And just in case, here's a guide for similar products for good hard copy file management, in case you need more deets.
Thank you all, I guess that's settled then - I'll be sharing both. I suspected there are still people that prefer getting a paper card, so I won't risk it. I will print the QR code on them too, though, why not. I read the piece on the best digital business card reviews and I'll most likely pick one of these solutions.
So, I got a new job last month (well, new-old, the company changed the owner and the name; I got a better position) and I need new business cards. I was going to print some, but the new GM suggested considering electronic business cards. Looked into the whole thing a little, seems to me they're not difficult to create and have some advantages. I also read that some people keep both versions, they print an electronic card QR code on a physical card. I am under the impression that there are still (potential) clients out there who would prefer an old-school paper card. Leaning toward the option of sharing both and at the same time I'm not even sure if I should include electronic cards at all. I would love to hear about your choice - paper or digital business card and why. I guess we have members of different generations and all kinds of industries/jobs here (I am in Sales), so it's a good sample to help me figure out how to proceed on this one.

My dream as well. I agree, more likely possible with no kids. Saving along the way is definitely a must (for most of us at least) so it takes some careful planning and discipline. But worth it. Worth it.

Hope that checking the contract and the bill will give more insight and some answers, it should in my opinion. Good luck with sorting this out.
Here's the whole article on this, the linked one only opens Abstract for me. A very interesting study. I wear Vivos too, only with cotton rope laces that I buy separately (best for hiking, don't get untied). From what I know they're recommended for flat feet.

Rereading The Growing Pains of Adrian Mole (Sue Townsend) after I read the first book again (The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13¾). Incredibly fun!
Rome is beautiful, and Saint Peter's Basilica is a magnificent must-see. Also, this tiny place, Two Sizes has the best tiramisu, ten minutes walk from Pantheon.
I have no idea about anything on your list (maybe because I'm too focused on mainstream pop, but I'll gladly give them a listen), but I think my favorite album for the year is Lorde's Solar Power. It is not yet released as of now, but I just know that a new wave of pop is going to be unleashed. :D
