I was prescribed a GLP-1 for being mildly overweight and only having one kidney, but once I saw the prices, I chose to try to lose weight the old-fashioned way.

Now I'm seeing GLP-1s for much reduced prices, especially if you sign up for a year's supply. Anyone know if this is the same exact medication, or if there is a catch to the cheaper prices?

Bro there’s 400 posts about this already but look the one up for Lioncore, the owner gave us all a discount code.

Code: TIGERS25 I think it’s 20% off, Tirz is $49.00 a month Zepbound

I’ve purchased Tirz and Reta from them, I’ve lost 79 lbs in two years taking them.

You have to get off your arse and exercise too, plus no alcohol or it doesn’t work.

Uhhhh....how are they gonna know you're on a GLP type peptide? That's not gonna show up on a employer required drug test.

You ever taken a polygraph including questions like “in the past 7 years have you used a prescription drug without a prescription?”

Fuuuuuuuck no. I've never known a person that's had a job like that. I'm a lowbrow type.

You can confidently answer no. It’s not drugs. Peptides are a chain of amino acids most of which the body produces naturally

You could get 600mg of Tirz shipped to your door from Lioncore. Probably 2 years worth of product for ~$650

I’m struggling with understanding how to measure this stuff. Is there a dummy’s guide somewhere?

EXAMPLE:

Using that first LINK for 'Peptide Reconstitution Calculator':

- You are using a 1ml insulin syringe
- You have a 30mg vial of Tirz
- You put 1ml of BAC water into the vial
- You want a dose of 5mg of Tirz ( 5mg = 5000mcg)

** result: You draw up 16.7 units and inject it.

I know three different people doing the Wegovy pills for $149/mo… all different doctors, different pharmacies. South Carolina.

To answer my own question, the super cheap versions of Zepbound or any other GLP-1 is not the same as the original. It is a compounded "generic" version, most in powder form that you have to mix yourself.

While this may be okay for most, with my health issues, I may pay a little extra for the actual Zepbound brand.

At this point, I doubt you are paying more that $300 at the highest dose, unless you are buying named brand. Any compound pharmacy can make these.

The money you save eating less food, will actually offset the cost to almost nothing.

Yes named brand Zepbound for $600/month with insurance and a doctor's prescription.

get your doctor to write a prescription and then purchase the drug from somewhere else.

Talk to your doctor about a compound pharmacy. If the doctor will not do it, get a new doctor or just use an online doctor for GLP-1. I know where I get TRT, they will do semaglutide or tirzepatide with max dose/month only in $300s. Starts in the $100s. Those are through a legit prescription to a compound pharmacy. Might be a state issue, but in Texas compounding pharmacies are the way.

A compounding pharmacy is still just a generic brand of Zepbound, which is not FDA approved. Not saying the FDA approval is etched in stone as safer, but at least it has been tested.

Edited to add: In addition to the single kidney and adrenal gland, plus only half my thyroid, I have just about recovered from Stage IV kidney cancer. I for one may need to play it a little on the safe side.

You would 100% pass any test, by simply saying you are on prescription medication from a doctor. That is what you would be on, regardless of the name on the package or pharmacy. Not sure where you are going with FDA approval, are you saying you have to pass a lie detector and can only use drugs FDA approved for your specific need. Doctors prescribe drugs all the time for off-label use, that is not illegal.

Edit to add to your edit - GLP-1s can jack up your digestive track. Sometimes simple and reversible, to more extreme like losing your gall bladder. Name brand vs. generic does not change the side-effects, they are the same. That will be a choice for you to make.
