Think I’ve heard of this before. What exactly is it and why did he want you on it?

Looks like it’s plant based with the usual talking points. What’s your current diet like and is the reason to lower BP? How bad is it now?

If so, find a new doctor or just use him as a legal drug dealer and get your nutrition advice from someone that knows what they’re talking about.

Second this. I take it and I was borderline hypertensive. Now I’m steadily 120/60

Agreed. But sometimes diet goes only so far. I eat clean as clean can be, but cannot escape the stress of life sometimes.

Anything that says “plant-based” (touting special health benefits) is an immediate no-go.

Carnivore is better.

It will lower your BP more. The less insulin, the less salt is reabsorbed at the kidney, less fluid retention.

Why are you so stressed out all the time?

I switched to it almost two years ago. My labs are significantly better in almost all areas now than before. Granted, I also added a lot of exercise to my lifestyle but the combination brought my resting blood pressure down from 140/90 to today's measurement of 102/64.

This board is full of "nutritional experts" who decry any directive from physicians but the DASH diet (aka Mediterranean Diet and 100 other names) is well documented to help people with specific conditions like high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease. Good luck fighting through the noise.

yea doctors are just straight up nutritional experts

if your bp went to what it claims...its from losing tons of bodyfat and not being a lazy arse.

no diet that promotes the use of seed oils, bread and other processed food is good for you and dont even get me started on the avoid salt myth

OP just needs to stick to whole foods like grilled/baked/smoked/sauteed meats, grilled/baked/sauteed veggies, and if he has carb sources....whole potatoes and sweet potatoes and a small amount of fruit if desired....aka making sure he is in a caloric deficit and eating plenty of protein (150-200g)

get on carditone, get 10k steps per day or do 20 min walk after each meal, and lift weights 3-4 times per week.

same damn advice we have been giving people on this board for over 5 years now....its simple and it works.
