Right now a lot of kids are in the gym. They spend most of their talking to each other and doing half reps. Or they stack a lot of weigh on the bar and have their spotter lift it with them.
Yep same here. All off for the summer I guess. I would never be "that guy" but there was a little bean pole doing curls with 25s on the ez bar. His elbows did not move once through the whole "curl". I hate to see people wasting their time.

People at my gym don't use power cages to do curls.

My favorite part of my gym is that we have the Citywide (Houston) Y membership so there are about 5 locations that I go to at least once/month and a few others that I will go to about once/quarter (such as the Downtown location that has a scenic view of the high rises).
Most of the locations are nothing special individually but I like that it allows for convenience to home, work, or even if I have a meeting across town and want to get a workout while waiting for traffic to settle down. Also, some locations may have equipment that others don't and helps to mix things up.

I'm in Omaha for the college World Series.
Currently lifting at the Air Force base gym. Most amazing place I've ever lifted.

I don't think they are doing negative. I don't think they know what they are doing.

Only took a Snapchat. Hopefully I get back over there a couple more times this week. Basketball courts, tennis courts, weights, machines, and a separate section for crossfit lifts. It was glorious. Will try to get more pics when I go back.
Can't wait to deadlift on one of the platforms over there.
ETA: just realized I probably gained a lot of attention because I have a beard and long hair on a military base gym lol

I workout at the Thibodaux Regional Wellness center. Just google it and see how nice it is. Biggest problem is there's no deadlift station and the gym could be double the size. They were not expecting as many people to sign up

I've seen some videos of the basketball courts I believe.
I have a bunch of family out that way. Will try to workout there next time in town.

I want to buy a gym. Who's with me?

So u bring equipment to the gym?
Posted on 6/18/17 at 10:29 am to Rossberg02
I'm in the process of building one just in my yard. Would love to buy one but it's a tough business, you have to offer something the others don't and honestly only way to do that is have amazing equipment, full dry&feet sauna and then a hardcore but inviting atmosphere. You have run it opposite other gyms and encourage people to actually go, only problem is wear and tear on the equipment.
But that and offering consultations are the only way to bring people in.
