I'm only taking 3mg in the morning and no noticable effects yet

Should I bump up to 6?

From what I have read, there is no downside up to 12mg. After that, there is little benefit

Amazon has the NOW brand on sale 55% off. Just order (2) bottles.

I've been taking this for probably two years now, and definitely feel it. 9mg still makes me wanna knuckle up.

lsu777-

Been taking 15mg of NOW Boron daily along with 50mg Zinc and 500mg Magnesium for several months.

Been tested twice. Total T has been good in the 700-800 ng/dl range.

Free T has been very low in the 3.2-3.4 pg/ml range. SHBG has been very high at 96 nmol/L.

Any ideas how to increase Free T and decrease SHGB? Thanks

I'll go from 3 to 6 next week and ramp up to 12 week over week

I need to schedule some blood work to get some baseline information first

How extensive was your bloodwork?

How’s your diet, liver enzymes, thyroid etc?

I got full bloodwork. Everything else was normal. The only things abnormal were the free T and SHBG.

I could tell a difference when I bumped from 3 to 6 and from 6 to 9.

Question for those using boron: are you also on TRT or just using boron by itself? I have been thinking about this one for a while (have not had levels checked so I guess I should start there), but am reluctant to get on TRT and not being able to stop.

Just boron for me, no TRT. 47. I see a difference. 12 mg in the morning.

man that is uncommon as you are taking the 3 main things over the counter that help

so the other thing you can do is start taking lots of vitamin D, mainly D3 and getting a lot more sun.

you can try stinging nettle root too as that can help but usually not as good as boron.

if all else fells Proviron will work. Not available here as a script because it got caught up and labeled a steroid even though it is not. Would have to order black market.

Thanks for the reply. I do take D2 and sunshine. I will investigate the Proviron.

My PCP says the issue is just due to age. I’m not sure about that. From what I’ve read, SHBG is produced in the liver. So apparently mine is making too much. I don’t know…

Thanks, I’ve been taking some zinc but just got an order of now boron in and will start that today. Going to start at 6mg/day and then see how it goes

I’m not on TRT and feel like my t levels are generally normal, but would have a day here or there where I felt tired and unmotivated. I read about boron here and looked into it. Without going too far into the weeds, there’s a chance you’re deficient if you don’t eat particular foods. There’s no risk associated with it up to doses way higher than people are talking about here, so it’s one of those things you can try and see if it makes a difference before jumping into the TRT waters, with the understanding that it’s not magic and you might not feel a thing if you’re already getting boron in your diet.

Thanks. I generally feel fine. I went through some stress at work the last few years that affected me more than I realized, and blew up from 185 to 210. Just felt like crap. Last fall I tried to pick up running and managing my diet, but it did not seem to do anything, and I was just demotivated and depressed. That’s when I started to think about T levels. Fast forward to July this year and I moved into a new role at work, and just a better environment. Change my diet to a Mediterranean style diet, but lower carb (~20-25% carbs). Also started weight training at home and getting on the bike trainer 3 days week and I am back down to 192 with a goal of about 10 more pounds, but more focus on body comp and waist. Still get tired some and certainly not building strength like I used to and figured this can help. Or at least not hurt.
