I run... a lot. Also barefoot mostly during the day working from home.

I think I'm running into some foot issues that just nag and don't get better. Have a theragun, which I use, and a couple of foot rollers and a standing mat... which I typically don't stand on because I move a lot or just pace during meetings sometimes.

Looking for some serious recovery flats that I can use during the day to just get rid of some of my generalized foot pains.

Any input would help as I don't just want some thick sandal, but something really built to take pressure off of the feet.

That's what I've read online, good to see the validation here.

What exactly are you fighting? I tell people all the time, but the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever had are my Xero huaraches.

Also highly recommend toe spacers. They seem to solve a variety of nagging foot issues.

Middle of front foot bottom and top pain.

Funny you mention barefoot, I've run in barefoot shoes most of thr last 15 years. As I've upped mileage significantly, I feel that's where the pain started.

How much have you increased mileage over what period of time? You probably just need to chill for a few days/weeks and then build back mileage at a slower rate. Worn out shoes might also be the issue and is usually the reason I have foot pain.

If you try to increase mileage and intensity more that your body can handle, you will get injured. No way around that. If you don’t fix the root issue, the pain won’t go away.

I usually increase mileage around 3-6 miles each week and have an easier week every fourth week where I do not increase mileage. I am pretty comfortable up to 70 miles a week so I do jump 10-15 miles a week if I am at low mileage for whatever reason.

I would also not increase peak weekly mileage more than 15-20 miles each year.

Toe spacers. Go get some and wear them as often as you can. Not sure if you have some sort of foot routine or not, but I’ve found the SoulMate to be the most effective for me. It’s a combination of balance, stretching, and strength training for the foot.

Oofos for sure. Daughter runs track and this past fall was her first cross country season where she put in some more serious mileage. She got a pair to wear around after workouts and at meets/races after she changes out of her racing spikes or cross country shoes. I bought myself a pair and they are great for support and recovery.

I’m interested in this. Any particular brand of toe spacers you recommend? I see a lot out there and don’t know enough to decide whether they’re all pretty much the same or if some are more effective. Thanks!
